Cheese - Worth the extra?

A few of my retail acquaintances are "boycotting" the cheese. Not because it's bad weed, although the general consensus is that it's not the best that's out there, but because of the high price they have to pay to get it wholesale - they simply can't make enough profit out of it compared with other good quality bud that's available for significantly less.

So the two main guys I go to won't sell Cheese, because they are having to pay £200 per oz wholesale, and can't mark it up - one guy gets all righteous and says "I sell 3g for £20 - I won't rip people off". He gets other good weed for £120 - £140 per oz wholesale - and he does get some very nice stuff, on occasion. On other occasions...well, I've smoked more than my share of "Viet Wet" ya know?

I may have smoked Cheese - I've never had anyone sell me stuff that they actually had a name for - but I doubt it, as I've had stinky weed, but never so stinky that one spliff stank the whole house out and penetrated through brick walls etc, as I am led to believe cheese does.

Is Cheese worth the extra? Or is it just all a hype?

One day, I'll get a cut...maybe...or someone will pin it down in seed form - I'm always hearing that the stuff from the seedbanks just isn't the same.

But for me, the high is what smoking weed is all about...everything else is secondary.

I wouldn't say it's crap exactly in fact enjoy it a lot just now but i've got a low tolerance these days. Tolerance builds quick but it is a nice high definitely worth the grow just maybe not monocropping. It is if you're selling it tho, everyone loves it. No weed is worth 200 an oz tho that's just mental.

I've got a UK Cheese cut that has a very strong smell. Everybody in SoCal want a big nose to the bag.

My run flipping to flower now is MasterBubba Kush, OG, and some Purple Kush. I'm veggin' up my little cut of Cheese...a clone I took off my outdoor girl in June. It's just now popping multifingered leaves!

I'm gonna grow that momma up, make a bunch of babies, flower 'em, then drop a Cheese Bomb on the upturned noses.

So of course I voted for the extra coin.

I'm sick and tired of paying £7 per gram for water.....as I TRY to explain to my guy....but until the market is so flooded (pardon the pun) with good quality, properly dried herb that people always have another source on hand, and can refuse the wet stuff....

But boycotting my guys and waiting another couple of months for my next harvest.....that's a hard road.

Thanks to everyone for their views on this. The general mood is that Cheese is NOT worth the extra to other sinse, although I think most people would pay a bit more if there is no alternative than something WET.

So, I will wait until Fate blesses me with a cut.

Now I just hope my guy answers his phone soon, so I can get something before seeing the legendary Gong this weekend.

Funnily enough I picked up some not so dry but stinky bud this week. I just took it out of it's package and let it dry. Don't wanna know how much weight it's lost but it certainly is very potent. Normally it's dry bud my man sells with a good choice of quality hash, but at the moment things are a bit scarce on the weed front around my parts, so I settled for the wet bud. My crop won't be finnished till late December.

As for Cheese I'm kinda bored with the high...sure it's good but there is better. I've found a pheno myself in my grow that is pretty outstanding in the resin and smell department...glad I cloned her. ShivaSkunk from sensi.

If you can get hold of psychosis...NL5 x Haze from the exodus lot, you'll find that is a lot stronger and smellier..clone only !

id say if you can get cheese or any weed thats grown to the degree/standard of wot most pro hobby growers can grow weed to on this site (for example) then its worth the extra considering wot the normal viet weed at up to 140 an oz is like these days.
however ive yet to find anyone(dealer wise) bring me any bud thats been half as decent as my own grown or any other pro hobby/percy growers i know of. so in that case no its not worth it as its only marginally better than the wet viet stuff even then its sometimes still wet.
if your lucky enough to find the proper good good shit then its always worth the extra it is.
one other thing i find is us growers are gonna say its not generally worth it cos we grow it so know its true value an to us 200 quid an oz is a rip off, we could grow a hell of a lot more puttin that towards leccy an shit.

Round where I live all weed is £200 an ounce (wholesale) regardless of what it is. I've heard of Cheese being £240 an ounce. Growing your own is the way forward, then you can search for the strain that matches your own needs.
