will 1in chicken wire work in a ScnOG?

The home depot didn't have any 2 in, at least not that i saw outside by the soil..

so will 1in chicken wire work? it's a rubbermaid/cfl grow and my first attempt at scnog

any tips for training the plant thru the screen would be much appreciated!!

it's a sativa dominant crystal clone grow in soil

(have a hid grow under my belt)

1 inch will work but if you want something else, leave the garden area and head for FENCING, usually over by lumber. At my HD, that's all the way on the other side of the store.

You can train under or over the screen. Under, just poke anything that grows through back down through the same hole. Tomorrow, it will be poking out one hole over and you poke it back down. Keep going until bud growth appears which is allowed above the screen.

Or, train on top. Let plant through screen ASAP fold it over and tie it down. Anything tries to grow vertically, tie it down.

I use a combo of the two. Keep it under until bud's appear, buds are allowed above the screen but, are tied horizontally to the end of the grow. This kept my 20 inch long colas to 6 inches in height.



With a Sativa, consider starting at 12/12 and adding the screen when the plant is tall enough.

I got what Freezeboy is using for $8 bucks on sale at casa depot, plus you can cut out a square or two if need be.

nice! i'm going to stat construction tomorrow, i could hold off on the screen as my clones are just taking root and they'll need to settle into soil anyway.. i'll need to figure out the height of the screen anyway

i've got some 30 gal rubbermaids and i'm putting a 6in coller inbetween em for extra height, trying a cfl grow, hope all goes well

I noticed you were talking about 35ga. rubber maids and depending on how much water you intend to fill them with you may want to get these tubs from Lowes.

I use these and so do some others growers here and they are the best and will not flex or burst. These tubs are reinforced on the sides all the way to the bottom. Do not make the mistake I just did to save 10 bucks per tub and get the fake knock offs from casa depot.
