Aeroponics Questions...

I was thinking of making a Aeropononics setup... 4'x6'... about 96 clones, and about 81 sprinklers.

Any idea what king of sprinklers i should get? How much GPH does there need to be to run these 81 sprinklers?

Iguana Juice?
Connoisseur?
or Sensi 2 Part?

How big do you recommend the reservoir to be to keep the project efficient and the everything neat?

Thanks for the reply,

I'm actualy going to build my own setup. I was going to Root the clones in a humidity dome and some rockwool, then put those in a 3'' net pot where ill flower.

I just need enough juice to push through about 80 sprinklers (too much?) and some good quality micro sprinklers to spray the roots.

Btw: Can a 6-8week og kush plant give me 15 clones?

You need to do WAY more research work. Look at Stinkbud's system on his website and Pirate's Aeroponic system here on ICM.

A wise grower does not run a Low pressure Aero system on only one pump. When (that's when, not IF) it fails, you'll lose the whole crop. I'd break up your sprayer feed lines to come from at least two - and preferably three pumps in your main rez.

With three pumps, 3 x 396GPH pumps might be enough, otherwise, you'll be wanting either 2 or 3 x 633GPH pumps.

Whatever pumps you go with, you will want at least ONE more of those pumps on hand to put into place when one of your pumps fails. If you can't afford to do that - aeroponics is not for you.

Thx again,

Ill look into that, I find aeroponics more interesting then intimidating. One of my concerns about using Organic nutz is clogging up the system. Money isnt an issue, i just like making sure everything is running nicely without any issues.

Before anymore questions, ill read up on what you told me.

Thx again

yes I know you wanna build your own. I meant to check out what the commecial systems are using and then copying them or using them as a reference.

The aquatop system i had i converted the jets to spinners(sprinklers), it was run with a 1200 gph mag drive and had 54 spinners i beleive, so for 80 id want at least a 2000gph, and a little more wouldnt hurt.

This was great stuff man,

I am currently reading a book called: How to Hydroponics 4th edition.

After reading this it certainly changed my mind about my current set up.

Thanks guys... as soon as I'm prepared ill post my new idea and hopefully get some more feed back :)

There is an old TAG blog here. I tripped over it about 4 months ago. It makes the most sense to me as to how to manage the fundamentals for outstanding results in the shortest time with the least amount of hassle

Here's the TAG link http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=15115&highlight=on%2Foff+times+mist+fog

Bare in mind this is over 5 years old. My upgrade is away from EXL mist heads (although they worlk fine, they are more oriented to low pressure and a spraybar). I am now using
fog heads. These are available from www.reptilebasics.com

On the nav bar go to misting systems, I am basically using the Advanced System: keep searching for Mist Heads. I am using one quad head for an 18 G tote. You can easily run splitters off the pump output side to daisy chain to more totes, or if you are doing a big table to position quad heads around the root chamber.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Nice, more goodies to read... haha

Since I've read a couple of aeroponic setups ive changed my setup.

Now I'm trying to find out if 81 sprinklers are really necesarry... which i think 36-48 sprinklers would be more then enough.

This Green Sprinkler Mister allow 16 to 24 gallons per hour to pass through it's misting head depending on the pressure. This Green

Sprinkler Style Mister will produce a 350 degree mist.

If i ran 3 of these babys, for 48 sprinklers. There shouldnt be any problems would there? (spray being too hard)

What about a good filter? I found this, but I believe theres a better way...

Would going organic be a bad idea?

... cant wait to build it... :)
