Ribsauce, 2500 cubic foot is a large room. How much of that space are u using to grow and what are you using for lights?

Thse are NOWHERE near big enough for a 2500 sqft room!!!! even if you section off the room that fan still wont be big enough IMO.

The only way to get it to work is if you section off part of the room and seal it as to make a completely seperate cab.

Or get like a 500 CFM fan/filter combo. That is still only an exchange rate of 5 times a minute. may be enough for smell but definately not for exhausting heat at the same time!

good luck!

How many lights? Seems to me you need to section off a smaller "flower area". That filter looks about the size of a can 66, kinda hard to tell from the pics though. If so it would cover a room of about 8x8 according to my hydro store guy.

help... newbie cant figure out his filter/ fan

hey everyone, i recently purchased a 6" vortex fan and 6" x 24" phresh filter for the flower room...i tried to set up the fan/filter into the ventilation in teh room that exhausts out of a chimney but i cant for the life of me get the reducer or flanges to connect so i just sat the filter on the ground with teh fan on top pulling through the filter as is seen in the picture below... i ran it the past two days on full blast on the speed controller adn teh room still has a dank smell to it... i turned the speed of the fan down last night to see if that helps but i believe the room is just too big for the fan/filter... soooo what im asking is first is it alright to run the fan/filter how i have it in the picture and second can i break up my room in half by hanging a rope and tarps hanging down from the ceiling to get the filter to be more effective????

any help will get K++++ thanks guys

ohh and heres some (satori x blue satellite) x F13 and some golden skush at a month of flower

what size is your room, dude?
my first inkling is that the fan/filter combo arent sufficently taking the volume of the room and "scrubbing" it fast enough.

multiply the length of your room......
by the width of your room.....
and take that answer and multiply it by the height of your space.

this will give you the total capacity (or volume) of your grow room.

having this number will allow you to pick the correct fan (in cfm's) that will effectively replace that volume of air AT LEAST twice an hour.

if that confused you....

Length X Width X Height of your room and get back to us.

also......having the fan sit atop the filter like that is fine. it works.
in essence it is "sucking" the dirty air thru the filter and "pushing" it out thru the vortex.
this method works fine, but the space used for the fan/filter COULD be used for another plant.
any chance of mounting it off the ground and out of the light footprint?

hey hubcap thanks for the reply... yea my room is about 2500 cubic feet so yeaaaaa def gonna have to partition off part of it to get the filter to work... gonna get on that right away thanks alot once again

If the flanges are not meet up and match, then a bit of ducting will do the trick. A touch of shiny tape around the clamps for piece of mind. Dangerous to have the fan sit on top with no connection in the long run. Moving parts yada yada...

Looks nice rs, you will love the golden skush.

hey everyone thanks for your input and suggestions...i did section off most of the room using 12x 16 foot tarps and the smell has been reduced alot...and yea the filter and fan are rated to about 500 cfm so things should be alright now... thanks again for helping me out

I've never seen anyone use a filter and fan in a true recirculating fashion,no ducting...air is sucked through the filter via the 6" vortex and pumped right back into the grow room rather then being exhuasted out of the grow room.

I've always seen it set up as

inside/grow room air > filter > fan > outside grow room

inside/grow room air > filter > a/c hood(s) > fan > outside grow room

inside/grow room air > a/c hood(s) > fan > ducting > filter outside the grow room (set in attic or opposite room)
