Legal Patient, Growing Question

Hi I just became a patient in October in Colorado. On one of my many forms it said something to the tune of "medicine may not be consumed in public...can be grown (6 plants 3 veg 3 flower) by the patient". Does this mean I can grow a massive outdoor indica plant next year in my backyard? Or would that count as "seeing my medicine."

Also, say I live with a parent or a roommate who is not a patient or caregiver. Could I only grow in my room as long as it's in my space? Or can I grow in the basement\ outside too? Just trying to clarify to avoid any problems (Police! Boom):joint: Oh ya and my neighbors are semi cool

California here but sending a big welcome out to Colorado and you!

We sure could use more Colorado information and I didn't know that y'all have a 3-3 in play..

I am thinking that suggests moms and clones? three strains? Not a lot but very useful actually.

Your right about the 6 plants, and the law is still fuzzy on the outdoor thing. But consuming in public and growing in public are two different things, and considering that most people really don't know what a growing plant looks like than hell. I plan on having an outdoor crop next season, I guess we'll see if I get harassed.

Yea I don't think clones count but i'm not sure. You definitely can't have more than 3 in flower per patient. That's why there's a crazy amount of bs from dispensaries to keep\get new patients. Some lie and say your card isn't valid in other places. Some immediately ask for you to sign over to get meds! I belong to Happy Harvest. They never do that and are not gouging people like other places with $65 eighths! with sales tax its like $70!!

Imo this is equivalent to when gas staions where charging $8 a gallon to Hurricane victims in the south.

There is a way to get your limit increased for special reasons. I've seen patients approved for 50 plants before. I'm currently in the process of increasing one of my patients due to the fact that he doesn't smoke. I believe we should be able to get his limit to 20 no problem. :joint:

Nice so how does one go about increasing their plant count?

I'm not quite sure, but from what I've heard it's fairly easy. You have to go to your doctor for sure, explaining that the process of making edibles requires more raw product hence the need for more plants. This of course has to be legitimate, you wouldn't want to put your doc at risk.:noway: Here is the actual text from amendment 20:
(a) A patient may engage in the medical use of marijuana, with no more marijuana than is medically necessary to address a debilitating medical condition. A patient's medical use of marijuana, within the following limits, is lawful: (I) No more than two ounces of a usable form of marijuana; and (II) No more than six marijuana plants, with three or fewer being mature, flowering plants that are producing a usable form of marijuana. (b) For quantities of marijuana in excess of these amounts, a patient or his or her primary care-giver may raise as an affirmative defense to charges of violation of state law that such greater amounts were medically necessary to address the patient's debilitating medical condition.

Doesn't say anything about where you decide to grow at. Would be foolish to grow where everybody can see your girls but that's at your discretion.

Yea I know it's not the smartest but I'm just thinking a few outside in a remote corner of a yard would be alright. If they get ripped then I had it coming I guess.

I think our altitude could have some positive effects on resin production but that's another topic.

I think so too, try and find some strains from Colorado that are acclimatized to this region. One great strain I know of is called Afro Funk from a local grower here in Colorado. It's a cross between AfghanxTrainwreckxSuper Skunkx with something else. Not quite sure will get all the details as soon as I can and post them. Absolutely phenomenal medicine, sweet smooth smoke, with a great mix of Sativa, Inidica in it. Wonderful strain.

Cool thanks redandblack! I'll be on the lookout for those. My dad grew Early Girl in a field and it wasn't done with the most care, but turned out o.k. Only thing is the flowering time has gotta be a little short since we've got snow in October.

the plants cannot be in public view, this has alot of people confused.. i don't kno why, it doesnt say anywhere that the grow cannot be done outdoors.. what it means is u need some tall thick hedges around your pot garden so NO ONE can see in except maybe from the air, and even then I would consider a greenhouse type roof.. grow YOUR BALLS OF FOR ME OUTTDOORS

Hey Sir Nugget thanks for the answer. Yes I was confused since it never mentions growing outdoors just plant amounts and where you can smoke. Maybe a greenhouse would be considered out of public view?
