Something to think about kids:

The SS2 is about all the weight a set of yo-yos can handle. Weighs about 20lb, max on the yoyos is about 23. Magnum is WAY WAY heavier...you ain't hanging that on any yoyo's I've seen. Not a big problem to solve, but something to be aware of for sure.

I have to check out Pico's latest test! Havent tried the magnum, its so damn big! The store said alot of folks are buying them for 4x8 tables with a light mover and like them.
I definitely wouldnt use the ss1's. There coverage doesnt come close to the ss2's. I was running both sided by side for awhile, and I didnt like the ss1 at all. The ss2's have really come down in price. A year ago they were $195 locally, now they are $119. The thing is, besides the canopy spread on the ss2's, what I really love about them is how tight they are for air cooling. Its the only air cooled hood I didnt have to tape seam leaks on and the swiveling glass is damn handy!
Without running with the glass, tightness of seams and a swiveling glass dont matter at all.
Have you thought about trying those Gavita bulbs since you arent air cooling?
They are really toughted in the hort industry but that is in greenhouse applications where a larger reflector will shade the natural sunlight.
I havent seen any opinions about them here though. I'd definitely give them a look at least.
Let us know how it goes for ya!

Mad props to you again Pico, I loved that reflector thread.

Greyskull, just to present another option, how about no hoods?

The Agrosun/Gavita 600w HPS has an excellent built-in relfector, and puts out 5K more lumens than any other 600w HPS(!) They claim the built-in reflector is more efficient than anything on the market because it's part of the bulb (reflectorized upper half) so no light is wasted. 158 lumens per watt is no joke!

This way you could run a ton of 600's without having to buy 1 hood, and get higher grams per watt than just about any other lighting solution you could create. I'd use the Lumatek dual 600 ballasts too to cut back on the lighting relays needed.

Just my $.02 bro, hope all is well with you and aloha!

Thanks for chiming in Lazyman! I knew someone had to have tried the Gavita's.

To be honest haven't tried them myself, I started with 3 1KWs, then 8, now going to 16, so I never really got a chance to start fresh with 600's. However if I did, the Gavita bulbs would be my #1 pick.
