I just drove out into the country and it's clear as a bell. You can see absolutely everything except any meteors. They kept saying 2AM-6AM peak time but I saw nothing. I never have though. I've tried seeing these a few times and I never see jack...:woohoo:

Saw 4 meteors but in different areas in the eastern sky and one shooting down, the other left to right. I was expecting a lot more honestly.

-15f, windy and cloudy. Same thing every year...

It's so nice wearing layers of warm stuff, burying yourself in the snow, and packing a few good bowls, but only if there's actually something to look at...

I had a wierd experience this past summer. I won't say what city I live in....but PoopyTeaBags and I were driving down the street, heading North when a meteor came shooting across the local sky...right in front of us. This wasn't very far up in the sky and it went all the way across and out of our sight. It was a really bright blue/white streak that was visibly burning as it shot across our sights. That was a crazy experience. This thing was so close(very local sky, not in my face) it was surreal.

^ I was driving home two years ago in the middle of winter, heading uphill on a long highway, so basically facing the sky, and it was a super clear night so I was looking for meteors...

There was oncoming traffic, so I turned my high beams off, but when I flipped them back on it was like pulling a trigger - a shooting star blasted straight in the direction I was going, seemingly directly above me, at the exact time I flipped the lever.
That was a crazy experience.

Wasn't it crazy?!?! I was in shock for a second. It seems like something that appeared so big and on fire wouldn't burn up before hitting the ground....at least for how close it was.

I still tell my friends about it, and act out pulling the trigger to a meteor-cannon. Definitely a stand-out moment in my little human life.

OK hows this for strange: could not sleep tonight, kept getting up and looking to the eastern sky (3) times but a storm was blowing in and had cloud cover. So I say heck with it and brew a fresh cup of coffee, check in on IC and this post was in the headlines..

LMAO

this year has been like this.. non stop wild..
