Not the green I'm looking for in veg

Hey I am having a little trouble reaching the lush green I'm after in veg.
I'm using bottled water, and house and garden cocos A+B as specified from their site. I am using all addatives too.

Is it normal to raise the concentration of cocos A over B because the A has more Nitrogen in it (5-0-1) as compared to the B which is a 2-3-7. The site says to use them together and use the same amounts of each at every stage throughout the plants life but to just fluctuate how much you use.
It would make more sense to me to use more A in veg and use more B in flower.

Also it could be a number of other things like PH and whatever else so here goes.
Im in 50coco/50pearlite
5 gallon buckets watering every day to every other day @ 2.5 gallons
I PH my water after adding cocos A+ Cocos B to anywhere between 5.5-6.2 as specified
My starting ppm of my water is 100 but is it bottled water.

Thanks in advance for the info

yo Motofox16,
Not familar with those nutes but it sure seems like you're giving then enough.

What strain ya growin'? Reason is...full on Indicas can be real nute hogs. And more sativa leaning plants often don't get very green. More of a lime green is all you can expect.
So, in answering your question...that's important.

I use House and Garden, and strongly suggest following the instructions.

You could try slowly bumping up the strength. They do indicate that you can turn it up with the "aggressive" feeding schedule.

Or perhaps your strain is not a dark strain. Evil twin is right: Some sativas tend toward the lighter side.

What I vegged the first time: NY sour diesel. sativa dominant.
Had the same problem in veg.
What i'm vegging now: Chem dawg, also sativa based.

On the other hand, My flowering NY diesel is flowering and has had the most rich green leaves (beginning flower of course! under a month).

I guess i'll just mess around with it, Its just a little new to me.

if i were you, i'd use equal parts a & b... ALWAYS
if you need some extra N, maybe add 5ml/g of cal/mag (2-0-0). and it will be good since you are using bottled water anyways.

or you could try h&g's magic green (which is like all N!) as a foliar for faster results.

good luck

Like attila76 says... follow the instructions on H & G. I've found that doing just what they say (mix A throughly... let stand.... then mix the equal proportion of B... let stand... then PH to 5.8 or whatever you want, is mandatory when using this product. Not mixing properly in the proper amounts or letting it stand for a time between adding the B to the A resulted in a less PH stable end product for me.

I never found that I needed to use the "aggressive rate", and at times, have used a lesser rate as the plants told me to. Also, I suggest using CalMag from start to finish, especially if you are using RO water.

Ya i haven't been using cal-mag because i figured they were coco specific nutrients so they would already have that compensated for, guess not. I used to use it with my last nutes (connoisseur by advanced) and it seemed to work well in there. I have some cal-mag veg from advanced nutrients, is it better to have a veg/bud specific cal-mag or just go with the standard pure blend pro stuff. Thanks

Also, on my plants lets say i'm watering every day to day and a half, I have had a lot of people tell me how often to do certain things in with my feeding schedule.
Example:
Using a pure water, or pure water and 0-50-30 suppliment, or pure water and a *-zyme product (multizyme, hygrozyme) and how often do i mix this in with my feeding schedule.

Right now in my budding I have rarely held off on any nutes for any days because they are just loving it every day and i would almost feel bad to skip a day as they are having no setbacks. I am in mid budding right now (30 days) and will not start implementing a flush into my feeding schedule till near the end, then do a regular week and a half flush. Unless of course they look like they need it.

Still my question remains everyone says to implement some kind of flush into their regular feeding schedule, well when and how much are we talking, what if anything should i mix in? Thanks :joint:

hi Moto,
You have to remember that growing is very individualistic. Everyone has they're own style and in-time, you'll develop your own style as well.

The coco has pretty good nutrient storage capacity and the plants themselves have loads of stored nutrients in the leaves.

So skipping a feeding and giving straight water isn't going to be a set-back. It's not that critical that one feeding is going to make a difference.

I can give you my feelings. If you're watering coco with enough volume to get 15-20% run-off, then the coco is getting enough flushing to prevent nutrient waste build-up. No extra flushing needed except at the very end.

I read of a watering xchedule in the AN newsletter that a friend of mine used in his coco grows. Full-strength one day...half strength the next day...and straight water the third day...and then repeat the cycle. That incorporated a flush every third watering.

If you are wanting to add a bloom boost such as they 0-50-30 that you mentioned. Add that to the water first...then add enough of your standard nutrient to get the desired EC...ph and use.
