Darkrooms, which do I want?

I'm looking at the 5x2.7' the 8x4' and the 4x4'

I'm thinking of 2 x 600 in either the 5x2.7' (88w sq ft) or 4x4' (75w sq ft) or 4 x 600 in the 8x4' (75) possibly even 2 x 1kw in the 8x4' (62.5w sq ft)

My grow is going to be limited to ~3kw or so and it will be in an apartment or manor. I like the idea of the 5x2.7 since it would be easy to work with given my limited space. the 8x4' seems a bit ambitious to have set up and filled along with another tent but it may be a 4x4 or 5x2.7 + 8x4 as I want close to 3kw.

Im always told to go with a single 1kw or even a 600 for the 4x4 and 2 x 600 or 1000 in the 8x4 by my hydroguy which is interesting since he obviously would like to sell me more ballasts.

I've never run anything less than 67w sq ft so I don't even know how a 600 w would light up 4x4'

Any advise on such is greatly appreciated.!

It would turn out some fine buds im sure, the ones around the perimeter wold be a little lacking ,and yeild would be down overall from a 1000 , but i cant see it not working persay, just not as efficient as a 1k

From everything I've read on tents, the only tent you want is a Sunhut, the others are flimsy and have very thin material in comparison. Check out the growroom design forum for a good review on a sunhut from a previous Darkroom and Secret Jardin owner...

Although the Sunhuts are good, there are other very good tents. I have a growlab and it works very well.

Supports my magnum XXXL, can33, and 6" centrifugal fan. The duct ports are big enough for 6" R6 insulated ducting and it runs at 74F with 600w and 77F with 1000w on 70F ambient.

I can't complain, its a bit top heavy but it easily supports the ~75 lbs of weight on it collectively.

I've heard good things about the Darkrooms as well, but the Growlabs have a lot fo little tweaks that the older tents do not.

To answer your question, go with the Growlab 120L, that way you could get away with the 2-3 600w, but could easily sustain 2 1000w as well.

http://www.dchydro.com/product/2789/GrowLab-120L/ has them for the cheapest I've seen anyone have them. $353.64

From a thorough review posted at http://icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=137122&highlight=sunhut

...I recently bought the new Sun Huts and they are simply fantastic screw the growlabs and anything else. Quality is unsurpassed and I have seen every tent now in person to date. Those Growlabs are not made of good materials just like their first go at it the Dark Rooms.

The stitching and thickness of the material is awesome quality! Its easily 4-5 times thicker if not more than the growlab/dr150 and metals on this version are also much stronger. I have a DR150 and an old sun hut now, even the old sun hut is better just no windows on that version. I went to the hydro shop and the grow labs were set up and I wasn't pleased at all. I don't think they were much of an improvement as far as materials go over the original dark room, better zippers... I was really hoping they used better materials on the new one, but I think its only marginally better and still doesn't touch the Sun Hut as far as quality on a single piece of materials. I've now scoured both tents in person!
