Oh my gosh, I am just so sorry to hear that your baby is sick; it is such a scary thing to go through.
Sending tons of positive energy and karma your way, for a speedy recovery.

All you can do is love them and try to be as good a friend to him, as he has always been to you.
I lost my little guy this week, he was only 5. It's just killing me. :badday:

Thc, Did you check for a lump on his right side of his neck??? Since he goes out,,maybe he got bit in a fight and caught some kind of viral infection...He looks like a great cat, and i hope he pulls threw,,Ill be saying some prays for em..keep us posted...JIMI

Yes they can get a puncture from a bite and it will seal but is an infection that will lead to an abscess.

Often we have to drain these abscesses with a tube.

Aw hes a cutie.. I hope he gets better.. Much karma your way.. My cat is like 15 years old so dont worry yours has along way to go.. Hes just a little sick for now.. :joint:

I can relate to what you're going through.

One of my cats recently came home with his face all smashed up and bloody (jaw broken in 3 places and a fracture in his face as well). It appears that some asshole kicked him or something. He's the nicest cat ever so I know he didn't deserve it... must have just been walking through the wrong backyard or something. He needed a $1500 surgery to save him and I didn't have the money... had to finance it and needed to scrape together every penny I could just for the down payment. Right now his upper & lower teeth are bonded together while his jaw heals... and there's still a chance that one of the fractures won't heal properly and he might need to have part of his jaw removed. I won't know until they remove the bonding and see how he does.

Best wishes to you and your kitty... I hope everything goes well. Keep your head up!

Well got the results today

He has problems with his blood values which indicate that hios liver and kidneys are deteriorating.

So i now have to give him special food and pills and in 6 weeks i have to go to take more blood.

Maybe he also has diabetes , in 6 weeks i will know.

it isn't live threatening in the short term , but i guess he has had his best time , i will jsut try to take as much care of him as i can

@ everyone thx 4 all the really nice comments

your cat looks like my cat, he's only 2 though and it's made me think about him dying, i want him to live forever, they seem to survive a lot though, both the boy and girl have jumped out of my bedroom window and they're still here to tell the tale, they're pretty cool cats to be honest they play with water and go crazy at 1 am every day. I hope your cat gets better dude, looks like a cutie!

looks like the cat was in a scruffle. hopefully your cat recovers. when my neighbor comes by i can ask her if she knows anything about it, shes a vet and breeds cats and dogs so she might have an answer

Could be lots of non life threatening things at 10 years.

I had an english shorthair that went from 17 to 23 with renal failure!

She never stopped looking proud till the day she departed.

K++ to you ,THC for doing WHATEVER it takes to keep your Nero with you. This is what separates pet owners from PET OWNERS, if you get my drift.
Still shootin' the GOOD karma your way. i'll tell my little Chihuahua to keep Nero in her thoughts ,too. you never know, it might help.:)

what kind of food are you feeding your cat?
A BARF diet biologically appropriate raw food
It’s about feeding pets responsibly and properly to maximize health, longevity and reduce allergies and vet bills. The diet is based on human grade whole foods including raw meat, finely ground bones, offal and other healthy ingredients such as fruit and vegetables. good luck!

Well a few months later , after nothing but diet food the functions of the liver and kidney are back to normal

But........sigh........now it appears , after a follow up bloodtest , that my little friend has cat aids or leukemia.

They are gonna check his blood once more to determine the cause

so basically he is slowly dying and there is nothing i can do , there is no cure, he will keep getting sick cuz his immune system is failing and eventually a cold or virus will kill him.

Damn what a bummer:moon:
