My 10 year old cat is sick

My cat is sick. I don't know what he has got. He has been drousy/sleepy/less active for a week or so.

I brought him to the vet and they did a blood test. The doctor said his blood was very thin.

For the rest he didn't tell me what it could mean and i can't find anything on the net.

But maybe that is for the best i don't think i wanna know.

Monday i will know the results.

Poor guy is laying here behind me with a blanket covering him.

I hope he will make it and that i won't lose him.

I almost haven't slept this night.

damn, they didnt test him for parasites? that'd be my first guess if his blood is so thin.

He may have some type of roundworm. How is his stools looking? very loose or bloody? drinking and eating normally?

hopefully its just a little flu or something, may shiva's karma be with him!!!

I have 3 small dogs thc123, so I appreciate what you're going through...had an 11 yo shi-tzu have 4 teeth removed under anesthetic last week...I feel for your worries.

Hi Thc sorry to hear about your problem,and sorry to hear of all your loss;es Sleepy..Im surprised they didnt chk for parasites or worms also...Hey thc check his neck on the right side for swallen glands,or Luphoma (sorry about my bad spelling)..We just got my 6 yr old daughters cat bk from the vet today...he had a lump on the side of his neck,,First they said it was a cyst,,in surgerie they couldnt remove it...So they think its Luphoma...they gave us some steroids,,, the cat still has a temp of 105,,,I feel soory for my daughter she lost Smokey and now Mystery,,both great friendly cats...Thc, Mystery was laying around,no engery slept all day,,,an then i noticed the bump..I would just check, just in case..Is your cat outdoor/indoor?

they took 3 blood samples i am awaiting the results , he also got all his anual shots i think that's why he is extra drousy today.

i am also sorry for your losses. His name is nero , not after the emperor , but just cuz he is black. Nero means black or black one

He is a pretty smart cat he potty trained himself


@ medi user thx , yeah this cat is just like a dog , he follows me around , in the car he just stays on the passanger seat occasionally looking through the window making people in other ars laugh.

He also always sits/lays in my neck and shoulders when i do chores at home. like a parrot.

@ sam : i just love black cats , and yeah 10 years isn't old at all for a cat.

i'm sorry to hear bout mystery and smokey. my cat is an indoor outdoor cat. At night he i indoors during the day outdoors. He has the same shedule as me lol

Yeha monday first thing in the morning i am gonna call the vet , and if he says the blood is ok and the cat is still like this i will go monday morning or evening the this doctor or another doctor.

If his blood is not ok then i will also hear how or what , it is just the bloody suspense/tension that sucks.

I lost my little guy this week, he was only 5. It's just killing me.

Thc, Did you check for a lump on his right side of his neck??? Since he goes out,,maybe he got bit in a fight and caught some kind of viral infection...He looks like a great cat, and i hope he pulls threw,,Ill be saying some prays for em..keep us posted...JIMI
