Hello Everyone - I'm BigMac and I'm new to not only this site but also this whole thing. I'm a medical Marijuana Patient in Colorado and would like to try my hand at growing my own medication. I'm very interested in trying a DWC System with 6 growing sites thats expandable later if I ever decide to become a caregiver (this would be years from now).

I'm open to absolutely everything from Growing Tips, Strains, Methods, where to buy seeds, where to go in the Denver Area for Medication (not some of the seedy places I've seen), pretty much anything and everything. I've never done this before and when I say I'm a Nube - I'm a COMPLETE Nube who is moldable and impressionable - LOL.

Thanks and I look forward to learning a lot from everyone here!!!!!

Right Now this is Me: :wallbash: I hope soon this will be me: :joint::woohoo:

Kola Radical

Go read how to clone by JJScorpio. Get some rapid rooter plugs, tray, dome, heat pad, and some Dutch Master Replicator. Find a good mother or 12. Take as many clones as your conscience allows.

Get them bitches into flower asap. Have fun.

Oh yeah. Forget the hydro. The finest medical marihoochie in Colorado is grown in organic soil. Top dollar at the dispensaries. Use FFOF and worm castings and other organic teas and concoctions.

DWC is my favorite! grow room is easy to keep clean, fewer insects. you can keep ph and nutes at optimum levels. find all you can about the strains you plan on growing, like veg time and go for it.

Thanks for the info. What is FFOF? I've not come across that yet. I have seen and read about organic grow teas, worm castings, and some other stuff but not FFOF.

Thanks!!!

Welcome BigMac!
FFOF is just short for Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Its a really good organic soil many growers trust. Cut it with worm castings and/or perlite to cut back its strength, it tends to run a little hot. If you gonna step off the "True Organic" approach add a little bit of dolomite lime to the mix as well.
Here is a good Soil Mix:
FFOF - 1bag= 10 gallons
worm castings - 5 gallons
perlite - 5 gallons
3/4 cup powdered dolomite/garden lime
As for hydro dwc is great if you can keep water temps down to 68-70 degrees F. I loved my dwc trees, growth was the best I have ever seen in person. However temps were always a fight and on my mind.
Take a look at this and see if you can create something like this....

With this method water temps are not an issue because the roots are not swimming. Trust only use the two gallon configuration, I tried it first using 5 gallons and vegging first and the root mass was too much. He "SoQuick" even explains this in one of his replies, I should have paid more attention. Anyways good luck to ya and hope this helps a little.
Peace
