I had the same thought, jus don't want to do that so close to the switch should I wait till they reach closer to the total height max then bend and tie, or start now when they are gonna really strech out? WhAt do you think? I mean what would you do?

I'd say bend em now. It's amazing to me how resilient this plant is. Bent, broken, crimped branches thrive so well. peace.

I had the same problem but I did not bend early enuff and the stalks got to thick and only the top portion of the plant bent but it still eventually grew into the light. Plus if you bend early is gives the plant time to grow more main colas from the side.

Does it matter which way I bend them? I've heard something like this somewhere, I think. I'm only 4 days till the switch, will this be alright to start to bend them at this time? Thanks to everyone for helping out.

rub the stalk where you want to bend it.

gently and repeatedly.

it will become more pliable.

take your time.

they will get more flexible, then you can tie them any way you like.

very little stress on the plant this way.

Jus had a thought, couldn't I jus scrog em? Isn't at the switch when you start to spread them out all over to cover more space. Wouldn't that also involve some bending? I think that I should do this now, bc they will stretch alot to fill in all the area anyway. What do you people think about scrog, good idea?

Tie, bend, twist, repot, torture, fim, cut, prune all before you throw the switch. This will give the pant some time to adjust to its new conditions. Doing all this stuff after you throw the switch just stresses the shit out of the plant and can cause problems that make you want to kill the thing if it starts chucking balls at you.

SCROG

SCROG

Hey Deviant1,
Yeah dude go for the 'Scrog, set the screen 2 or a few more "s below the height of your current canopy, genty push down and place the branches laying them out under the screen, you have a couple of weeks here(before buds start to show) and a stretch to fill in any holes/gaps, then just let em go!
the beauty of this is you can make an even canopy exactly at the height you want it to be, you can use the crushing tecnique with problem branches, just be gentle and dont break the skin of the branches, maybe use twist ties first before you stick on the screen. Hope this -Helps. 'Be-Lucky' Fella!!
'Scrogerman (UK)':smoker:

ps if any branches get vertically out of control, just gently pull the stem/cola down to the height you want it to be and fix to the screen with a twisty tie, usins this tecnique you will be able to keep your canopy nice and even allowing all colas to recieve the same amount of light-Good luck!!

Exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks scroggerman. Do you have any ideas about where to get a good screen for this app. Can I use tough string or does it need to be a wire of some sort?

Thanks that's what I got, I also got some chicken wire that I cut a lil to make bigger holes.( around 3" holes) I'm gonna give the chicken wire a try first, it seems to be the more sturdy of the two. If I don't like it , I ll jua switch it out next time around.

I now need to know where to place the screen, about 2-3" below the canopy?

Also which way should I bend the top?

Yeah Deviant,

I've used Chicken wire the green plastic coated kind,Any sort of garden mesh or similar will do. Trouble i had was i had too small a gauge wire, holes were like 1"x1" makes it more difficult, as every time you pull a cola/branch back down through the same hole it grew through to move it along and position it where you want, i was causing a little damage to the leaf, this time i'm using a plastic garden mesh with a 2.5" x 2.5" gauge, "bye-bye leaf damage", so get something like that, was £2.50 a meter and that was with a discount of 50%.(Expensive poo)
Be sure when you are building the Scrog to pull the mesh tight and fix with nail staples, this way your plants wont push the screen up, creating a revearse bowl scrog-NOT Good! just pull tight n fix.(paint your timber)
If you need any help with this dude just ask away-i'm here to help!
Peace & Respect .....Scrogerman'
Ps- i find 8"-12" from the top of the tank to the bottom of the screen is the best height to set the screen at dude, remember you will need to work under there......Peace:respect:( look in garden centre's for 2.5" gauge plastic garden mesh)

That will do it just watch it dont completely fall apart on you.
It dosent really matter which way you bend the top, i usuall aim for the bigger branches to the corners of the screen it almost fills itself in then-TIP-let each branch grow up through the holes about 3-4 inches then gently pull that branch down through the same hole it grew through and move along (dont try to weave) -aim it to where you want it, let the branches come back up through the next hole and repeat untill you have all the branches where you want them. try to do this to all branches the same time so to speak, otherwise you will struggle with an even canopy.
you set that screen where you want it buddy just 8-12 " from the top of the tank!!

I will say you will need to overkill your ventilation and use a dehumidifier especially 5wks from the end of flower-(or you may have to pick/harvest a bit on the early side), I get 170+ air changes an hour and use a 10ltr dehuuy everytime-'Bye Bye-Bud Rot'
'Peace out n Be-Lucky Bro.........Scrogerman'

Ps- Once you get this dialled in you will never look back - takes a couple weeks longer that sog n other styles but it's well worth the extra veg time- you will be rolling in buds dude.!!!!!!!!!
If you give me a little more info on the spec of your Rig, i can stick about and give you some pointers.......np!
