This is my first grow in two large rubbermaids with 5 plants 3 are (trinity x NL)x deep chunk x blue dream and the other two are (trinity x NL)x deep chunk x ATF.(trinity x NL)x deep chunk was the male for both. Currently i have 4 100 watt cfls 1750 lummens each and a small fan. Temps are holding at 70 inside. Running a 24/0 light schedule right now. They were all planted in miricle grow seed starting soil. I still need to get some mylar inside hopefully tomorrow and a thermatake pc fan set up for when i put the carbon filter on. All info is welcome and thanks for checking my thread out. here is a pic from today.

Thanks. yea i was thinking about it after seeing how bright they are but im concerned about the heat and power consumption. But on the other hand i am currently drawing 92 watts with my cfls and a 70 watt hps looks alot brighter, so in theory i would actually cut down on my power draw. I might actually start looking into that now. Can anyone see my pic i posted?

its the spectrum you need to focus on not the power so much. CFL's put off blue spectrum, in order to flower a plant PROPERLY and get real dense bud, you NEED red spectrum (HPS). A 250watt HPS should add about 25 bux on your elec bill if your running it 12/12. Trust me you NEED a real grow light, CFL is great for veg but not flower..... there's plenty of begginer threads you can read.

scrape the mylar and paint that shit bright white. i would invest in a hps light also, even if its a small one, youll be way happier with the results. proly let em sleep to, if there rooted a 18-6 schedule would work just fine, otherwise your stunting there growth.

You should get at least a 250 if not a 400 hps for those rubbermaids. Search ebay they have a 400 with all of it built into a air cooled hood . I got one for one of my patients. We got a cheap bathroom fan and he can run in a closed 2x4 closet with no heat issues . His babies are looking great.
