Really? A 1500 watt HPS?

So, please tell me I'm not the only one who just found out there's a 1500 watt digital ballast out and a 1500 watt HPS bulb to go with it. I just have go to hear your opinions on this. Anyone open to getting one? Can you imagine the penetration? The heat? But the yield... wow. It's supposed to be 207,000 lumens. If a 600 is a 3x3, a 1k is 4x4... then this is the solution to your 5x5. I thought they were kidding when they said they're gonna make these. I can't imagine how many 600 users will flip about how it's almost 3x 600s. Hah. I would just get three of these and pay the light bill. It's not like you're growing tomatos with it.

I'm glad to see some other people think this is badass. Hopefully we'll see the first grow logs soon.

I was wondering about that too... maybe they'll only sell it to you on the condition that you return an evaluation work sheet to them for their research?

I've been thinking of upgrading my 250W hps in my 2' x 2' cab. This light might do the trick.

We currently burn 4 1500w halides, 1-1000 h and 1-1000w hps in a 10x10 room.
I know, "you cant flower with halides"

Heat is the only drawback. We use squril cage fans from house furnances for exhaust while the intake is passive. Used 1500 watt ballasts from stadium lighting was <$30.00 each and bulbs about the same. Anyone want more info or pics let me know. T
