Carbon filter stoped working after two weeks!

I recently bought a 4 inch Carbon air Carbon filter and after two weeks it quit working! Usually they last me about a year and then they get this packaging tape smell. The filter is rated at 200 cmf and my fan is 187 so that shouldnt be a problem and i am running it through two 4x4x8 tents and that shouldnt be a problem. Should i get a hold of the company and try to get a refund? Also what is your favorite brand of carbon filter?

I use Can Filters and get about a year

perhaps humidity is too high?

i use a dehumidifier and it was at 60-65% humidity.

got a leak, maybe smells escaping because its not getting filtered?

Sounds to me like it was too small of a filter. I have a can 33 for a 4x4 tent and it works wonders. Its the can33 with a 6 inch flange, but you can put a 4" on it. It'll last me 2-3 full cycles.
