What's new

what causes these spots?

Green Supreme

Food you dripped on leaves while watering? Pics would be a little helpful, if you wanted to make it easier for folks than just a shot in the dark. Good luck. Peace GS

The plants are karmas happy brother, but I'm not sure if they are burnt or if its the ph level? Maybe mag deficient.. get me the pics and i'll show them here dude

Skyline Lights, I didn't see any sign of "The Borg" (spider mites).. I think it's the soil you're using. If you haven't already, you should transplant the seedlings into a milder medium, seed starter soil. You can find it at wallymart.. or any grow shop.

Here is the back ground info on the seeds you're growing, in the form of an amusing anecdote:

I hope you can save them!

I will post your photos from today for you. The seedlings look much happier now, the new growth is green and healthy - I believe they will pull out of it!

Skyline lights it looks to me like they will make it, won't have to germinate the rest of them after all :)

For the diagnosis, here are his latest photos

Not sure that composting in the pot is a good idea, is that what you are doing there?

I'd guess hot soil, I don't think a mag def would show that early. Could be ph as well.

I got a ph tester that read alkaline as much as it could, so I hoped some of the acidity from the pinecones, and orang peals would leak in when watered, and give the plants what they need.
Figured it couldn't hurt

Buy a bag of soil and eliminate that variable.. also adding orange peels and pine cones makes a perfect place for mold or other bacteria to grow and really cause havok on the plants... think about it.. throw that crap on the counter on a plate, water it every other day and look what you have grown on that plate..

Not to mention attracting pests. If you have pH problems, fix it in your water.

Looks like a P deficiency. This often happens early while the young seedling is creating its root system which takes lots of phosphorus.

Looks like it would benefit from a cal/mag supplement as well. Just starting to show a minor mag def (upturned edges w/ light yellowing on edges & in between veins.

She looks like she's vegging well now, maybe give her a light feed w/ 60/40 veg/bloom nutes and she's off.
