Can You Plant Jiffy Pellets Into Rockwool?

So, I received my clones today that I've been patiently waiting for and unfortunately my friend forgot to communicate to the guy who he got them from to put them in 1 inch rockwool cubes. Instead the cloner put them into jiffy pellets.

This is a problem for me because I was planning on growing these in my top fed DWC with a 1 inch cube into a 3 inch cube as a SOG in my cab. Now I don't know what to do!!

Is there a way to use these pellets somehow?

What are my options?

I'm pretty new to all this so I'm really at a loss and this is throwing some major kinks into my first program

What should I do?

intl,
I see no reason why they wouldn't work. Just pretend they're rockwool and you'll be fine. One thing I'd do though is to maybe tear off some rockwool from a corner of your big cubes and sort-of tuck in the peat to provide light blocking to all the roots that come out of the peat. roots don't like light.

sure can.

when transplanting into RW and If you use benies(micorhizzal), drop some of that powder into the plug hole of the RW block. then insert plug. enjoy the roots.

You neglected to say what method you're using with your SOG but, a large cube defeats the purpose of DWC by depriving the upper air roots of oxygen.

If you want to use a 3" cube, lose the DWC. If you want to use DWC, lose the 3" cube.

If you're doing E&F, just drop the pellet into the hole in the cube.

Hmm, interesting I never thought of that. I am just going off of the system instructiond for my BCNL Producer and what they suggested:

Grow Manual

I do try and question things as much as possible though so thank you for bringing this to my attention. I wonder if it would be more effective using something other than a 3" so that the upper roots could get more oxygen? The way their timer is set in these boxes the cubes get top fed into the cubes as well as the whole DWC thing.
