Apologies if this has already been done but...

I just read a new growers diary where by he wonders if he should paint his newly bought white pots black... now this got me wondering... would a white pot in fact be better than a black one? surely its more reflective and if theres a big downside to using white pots, why would they make them?

anyone have any thoughts on this?
cheers

From something I read in the Grower Bible it warns if the white pots let too much light in it can cause the roots to turn green.

I see what youre saying, but wouldnt that depend on the thickness of the plastic? ... again this raises the question, why would they make em? ;)

ya it does depend on the thickness of the plastic. they make them I'm guessing because they reflect heat, don't want those roots getting too hot.

IMO the color of the pot doesn't matter at all. If light is reaching the pot your canopy isn't dense enough. Wasted light IMO.

But white pots sure do look nice. :)

OK well I guess my concerns on the roots turning green and for naught. It was something I read in the Grower Bible.
