4-5lb trees. How to get there? DWC? EFB?

New Tree Room.....

training...
pruning a must... will have to snip off all inner growth, nearly daily... especially if have c02 going... too much useless vegetative growth. it is possible to have a huge tree that was not trained right & lots of smaller flowers... train like huge scrog... or inner growth wont get light due to large exterior canopy...
have stakes, yoyos, etc already in place... ceiling strength to support weight, if yoyo'ing...

dont overgrow!...
trees & low #'s are good... but a waste if not trained & maintained thru this long period. there comes a point where the plant is sexually mature & ready to go. waiting further for more fruit will make it suffer.

hope this helps. enjoy your garden!

This info is gold Mistress and makes total sense. Thanks allot I really appreciate your input. :)

Thanks Senor Bruno.

Just to show you how much they like the outdoors here. A few pics. Plus one inside the veg can running 3k of mh 18/6.
MOst had 3-4 months veg before they were outed to flower. Each plant would have been repotted 5 times. All were handwatered. This is why i want to do away with coco. Mountains of work!

Even if you found a way to do it, why would you want to? You cannot pull extra weight out of your garden every year with just 1-2 harvests. You need frequent harvests of a decent weight to achieve higher annual yields.

Let's be generous and say you can grow 2 pound plants every 16 weeks (8 weeks veg 8 weeks flower.) I saw no mention of how many lights you're running, but let's say 6 lights. That would work out to 3.25 harvests of say 6 plants each, or a 12 pound harvest 3.25 times a year. So a total of 39 pounds.

With a 2 week veg time, I can do 5.2 harvests a year of 9 pounds each, or 46.8 pounds per year with the same lighting.

7.8 pounds more per year this way.

With separate veg rooms you can do more, and my way spends way more time growing bud than growing large plants. I can use a larger flowering room, and a smaller veg room this way. Unless someone knows a way to turn big stems and fan leaves into serious $$ ;)

Hi Lazy man thanks for your interest abd advice. I think you have missed the point in that I will be perpetually vegging and flowering at the same time. No lagg between veg and flower. Optimumly veg and flowertimes will be identical at 9-10 weeks with healthy large clones at the ready bring the total number of plants to 18. This theoretically would allow me 5 harvests per year.

A reason for the larger plants is so that I can run less numbers if or when the shit hits the fan. It would have too look better in court having less numbers.

I do get your point though and can appreciate the practicalities you mention.

Riverrat7. Love the photos. your plants seem to be healthy and large. I believe you can pull your 4 plus lbs, using deep water culter. Last year I grow a huge tomatoe plant in a home made DWC set up. I really wanted to grow S.S.H. this year but because i had to leave the states in a rush it never happened. Make it happen for both of us!!

Hey Lazyman.......I`m one of the converts from Krusty buckets that went to flip rooms runnin ebb and flow bucket setups a month apart in age so perpetual harveys could be pulled every 4-5 weeks in smaller rooms with less wattage but still run like total 4-5000 watts per location with all the pumps , fans , a/c`s , and dehuey`s but usin flip rooms knocked it downta only like 2500 watts per day total elec consumption and that`s what saved my ass here in Hell...............

My clone and pre-veg setups were all centralized elsewhere and the flip rooms were bloom rooms only so that`s as you said the more efficient mode of mass production on a scheduled basis.........

Before tearing down I had vertical rack rooms pullin 98 ozs +/- outta 3-600`s on top of each other and only 4 plants on 4 levels on 4 walls for a total of 64 plants and only 1.5 oz plants which was baby shit to do every 5 weeks on 9 week schedules and allowing a week of dry turnaround bag and tag time.......

Lower plant numbers takes longer but not much cuz Double D`s ain`t usin no crazy veg time Lazyman............He`s hoonin out monsters not so much tall as wide but his setup`s kinda like Heath Robinsons fast flow waterfarms back at HG.....DD`s 4 lber`s were big bushes not like my old krusty bucket plants that were at least 5-6' tall and bout as wide.......

DD`s plants have colas as big as 3 liter coke bottles minimum with some bigger and cages wrapped round em like outdoor plants need.......

Good luck RR......Anything I can do ta help just holler.......I doubt you`d be ableta move plants outside after em gettin that size so yas best back up and let`s figure a better gameplan ta give yas perpetual harveys with as much return as possible each cycle....

I`ve been wrong before........New business.............Plant cranes..............LOL..........

Peace.......Freds..........

4-5 lb trees? indoors? did you discover a new type of fertlizer? new type of light? growing in a warehouse?

i never heard of anyone pulling 4-5 per plant indoors ever.... I pulled 2.5 oz per plant in ebb n gro buckets, with a 2 week veg, with 2kw 24plants yeilded me 4lbs
that's damn good! do you have a grow report on the harvest??

The key to maximize your number of harvests per year is to have a separate veg room. It takes absolute minimal power as you can put the plants close together. Also you can run proper veg lights (halides).

With the half year you wasted trying to pull a five pound plant, you could have had three 5-10 pound cycles.

I think the only way you could do this would be outdoors which is a whole new world of problems.
