Hey guys how do you make a air tight room?

try your best to cover the room head to toe in black and white poly, or whatever you are using, make sure to tape and overlap all the joints where the poly connects on the walls ceiling and floor. run an ionizer for 2-4 days in the room to create a bond between the opposing charges of the walls and poly(this makes sure all air is out of the space between the walls and poly). wheather strip the shit out of all your door jams, windows etc. cualk any other spaces where air may be leaking. ive ran a couple "sealed rooms" that weremt 100% airtight. performed as good as the more sealed rooms ive done, good luck homes, d

So if you are using an insulated, sheetrocked room you painted white, you would need poly right? I was going to leave the cieling unislated and unrocked to allow for heat escape... is that ok?

You are putting too much emphasis on "airtight" IMO.I run a sealed room but its by no means airtight.I would keep flat white paint and forget any kind of covering.I used to have mylar but that seems like a long time ago lol.Are you planning on co2 enrichment?

+1 for dmt and +2 for SparkJumper. either way will work it all depends on how deep you want to dive into your project. some like getting technical and some like the k.i.s.s. way.

I meant to say "wouldn't need poly"! LOL... makes a big difference.

Yeah, eventually we are planning co2. What do you think about the ceiling? Should I leave exposed rafters, through a lid on it, or insulate it and throw a lid on it?

i assumed that this room, was a room, not a built room in a room, haha, d
ive only used dry wall once in an attic build, covered the walls in b/w poly with milar with 5 foot mylar placed where the most plant canopy would be. i honestly never went with white paint indoors, on outdoors on south facing fences protecting my lil guys from wind, rain and pests.
