First Grow, 2 weeks flower w/ probs

First grow (400w HPS), currently 2 weeks into flower. Using FF nutes (1 tbs per gallon) every other watering and blackstrap mollases every watering. Watering with Tap @ 6.5 PH with about 30% Runoff.

Since flipping to 12/12 I have still been using Grow big every other watering. Also used Tigerbloom once in the last 2 weeks. I havn't seen any major stretch yet, plants are still pretty small.

Running into an Issue with leaves dying/yellowing at bottom of plants. From reading this should be N def but I've been using growbig these first 2 weeks so could it still be N def?

Also I noticed my plants get real droopy right before/during the first few hours of darkness, is this normal (u can see the back right plant really wilting)? I was thinking I've been over watering and could possibily have root rot so I watered with peroxide last watering in hopes of getting more oxygen into the soil. I also cut small openings in side of pots in hopes to get more air to roots. Typically I go 3 days between waters, they are in 4 gal pots. Temps are 78-80 during lights on but at night i've noticed temps dropping to around 66, should I be concerned about this?

These plants were also LST'd

My humble opinion would ring like this, when i was taught to grow by a skillful cropper years back, some of the best advice i got was "don't love them to death", meaning, cannibus is a weed. it would grow with or without people, it's not a hard plant to grow and sometimes (especially in the first few cycles of learning to grow) less is more.

I would start off with either one or two fertilizers. Tigerbloom is great, just make sure you store it correctly, in the dark, in a cooler temp... if it sits in your grow room and bakes under light all day it will spoil.... mixing ferts can cuase bad results and add confusion to the learning process...

You may be overwatering.... You want the soil to get a chance to dry out between waterings. not completely so it hardens, but your pots should be noticeably lighter in weight before watering, and the first inch to two inches of soil should be just about completely dry.

Your temps are fine. They're actually just about perfect so no worries there....

The holes you cut in the sides of your pot need to be blocked, you dont want ANY light being exposed to your roots, it will damage your roots. if you need better drainage drill holes from bottom not sides.

The lower leaves that are dying is most likely natural. Your plants are getting big and bushy and the bottom leaves are receiving much less light, if any.... unless a large amount of leaves start to go i wouldn't worry too much... yellowing is most of the time a result of N def but like i said it is natural for a plant to yellow slowly and lose fan leaves during the flower process. Just as our bodies start to deteriorate at a certain point in the life cycle, as does a plant.

Just so you know your plants look great, besides the droopiness which could easily be overwatering (most common rookie mistake) i dont see any real problems in those pics... good job so far and good luck...

Over watering maybe

Over watering maybe

:yeahthats Do you use a moisture tester? Helps to keep you from over watering. :2cents: :joint:

What's the pH of the runoff?

Looks like an overall N defficiency coupled with possible over watering but it also could be a pH problem...how often do you flush with straight 6.5-7.0 plain water?

When watering your plants saturate the soil but don't waterlog it as this will suffocate your root system. The night temps are a little cool but not cold enough to worry about and if in the genetics can lend a helping hand in some purpling around harvest time.

This is the money you could be saving if you grow

The plants look fine to me. The drooping, near the bottom of the plant could be a lack of sufficient lighting.

i suggest pulling off those dead leaves. I had some dead leaves on my plant last grow and this was more towards harvest but my plants developed some kind of fungus. Im sure your fine cause you dont have nearly as many but still it might be best to be safe.

I only pull leaves that are 50% dead and even then i just try and trim them....If you have drainage holes in the pots they should be okay from root rot...I had that experience and it looks like your soil is drying out enough from your one pic....I would check to see if shes rootbound as well...another thought is air circulation....can you provide a little more about the mdium and set up...personally I would trim up the bottom 6 inches, flush well, transplant into 5 gallon or 7 gallon pot...how far is the light hanging? Good luck...I would take a few cuts now and put em in a cup of water in the fridge....they will be good for a week or so. just in case the plant dies u can reveg the cuts

PH runoff is 6.60
im using FFOF with roughly 30% perlite. Every other watering I water with strait 6.5 water. I bought a moisture meter over the weekend and found I was over watering by a decent amount. Instead of watering every 3 days I went 5 days and the plants seemed to perk up.

On one of the plants it seems the leaves are starting to yellow higher from the bottom and now im seeing brown/black spots. Could this be a deficiency or overnuting?

Since im not an "expert" grower nor am i rich i stick to whats simple and cheap. 50% vermiculite, 25% peat moss and 25% worm castings. About 2 inches of lava rock on bottom for drainage. 5 gal pots. Tap water since it has minerals. And since the peat moss has ferts added i dont need any ferts until flower time. Im using 400w hps in a 3x2.5 area with 2 skunk 1 plants. 5 weeks into flower and i had to tie the buds because they are so heavy. Been using bloom booster with molasses since 12/12. The plants are taking over my closet and i had to bend the tops over. 3-4 weeks til harvest i it looks very good. In my opinion it looks like you over water. Your plants dont look too bad. The soil looks a little heavy. The vermiculite airiates the roots. Next time try my method. Its always worked for me. Check out my pics of my current grow.

xswesx- Man they look pretty healthy. I always water by feel....water good a few times and really get used to the weight of each plant, they will let u know when they need a drink if ya listen to em...I didn't catch if you were runnin the same strain or not but some will like more and some will like less water...if i may suggest trimming off the bottom popcorn buds that arent geting light..they soak up energy that the canopy needs...these guys seem to be givin you solid advice...good luck and remember be safe!!!

Cut all that dead stuff off from the stem,. It will help with the nutes going to the correct areas. PLants look good to me, Lack a Little Nitrogen but thats ok in flowering. Just keep up what you are doing and watch the PH
