Hey Fellow Stoners,
here's my issue, in the first pic you'll see the incompatibility of my BAASR type lamp cord with my ballast, i ordered what i thought was a ballast adapter($22 shipped) so that i could use my 1000w magnetic ballast allong with my BAASR lamp&socket but it definitly doesnt fit either as you see in the second pic. I've got 4 ww plants in mid bloom, and i've used froogle, thefind, and even ebay(which isnt as great as it used to be:joint:), and i've come up empty..
I do know that I need a male lamp plug, but i definitly havent found any male plug to BAASR female adapters

Anyone with any suggestions at all? :1help:
Thanks in advance

What about replacing the female plug? Or you could cut the male of your new adapter, drill a hole and connect it directly to the ballast, bypassing the old female that way. You can buy a "rubber-ring-thing" that makes a seal between cable and hole, so you wont get moisture problems.

i dont kno if you can see in this pic but the hot & cold prongs are too close and on the ballast they are spread out, also there is a bit of insulation that comes up around about 1/4centimeter or so that inhibits the plug from even going in the ballast..
what i did was cut that extra insulation/wiring on the outer circumference of the cord and use plier to spread the prongs out just a tad, and they fit right into the ballast, and very snugg. Everything turned on:woohoo:, but im just concerned on whether this is safe enough to run like this for the rest of my grow. Im not an electrical pro hence the apprehensiveness, should i leave it as is and let my ladies enjoy or go ahead and try to do what you said?

If you take the top off your ballast youll see those connectors are just a way of the ballast company to keep there design exclusive, and allowing you to easily detach the cord. you can hook those 3 wires up to the corresponding wire on your power cord, bypassing those connectors all together. or just get a male an female sunsystem cord receptacles so you dont need that adapter. i built all my ballast and have put spare parts ordered from sunsystems on all of them so there easy to handle.
