I've had this pen for some time but haven't used it for a very long time (I'm a soil grower - kinda got too lazy to mess with pH)
I assume that the pH electrode has dried out by now - i heard that was a bad thing... do you think it would still be OK after a calibration?

Six months ago I had a meter that I thought I lost because it would not calibrate. I kept it in maintenance fluid for 24 hours and it came back to life. I'm still using it today.

i have the same meter and have let the probe dry out before.i had put it away in storage for a fews months with the cap filled with solution, but when i took it out of storage and went to use it all the solution had evaporated.i then filled the cap with storage solution to reactivate it and it is now in perfect working condition.

Thanks for your input everybody - I found a manual on the net and that's also what it said: Soak in storage fluid for one hour. I guess the worst you can do is to store it in distilled water...
