Clear Papers

For the last few years, I've been using clear rolling papers. I like the way that they burn, especially in the wind (no boating). I don't think that I've ever seen a joint on here rolled in a clear paper, nor heard anyone talk about them, so what's up? Anyone else roll in them?

Are you talking about the stuff that looks like plastic? I think it is okay, not much of a difference (at least for me) compared to the other papers.

ive seen plenty people on here showing pics of clear papers...

i was never a fan of them because i always felt as if they changed the taste of my weed...

Yuppers :D I like the fact that if you burn one by itself, there is no smell - if you burn a 'paper' paper by itself, it smells...

...like paper :D

ya know, there was a company called "naked papers" that would send you a sample of all their clear wraps. they had some really neat sizes. if you're really that interested, google em and see if they are still doing it. its worth a shot if you like the cellulose wraps.

and as an aside Tommy Chong's new DVD comes wrapped in cellulose (as opposed to cellophane) so you can smoke it!

I have used 3 different kinds always fucks my smoke. The wont stay lit. and if you have one of those wet lipped smokers it messes up the whole thing.

:yeahthats Any paper will alter the flavor of your herb though. I got a free pack of cellulose papes about a year ago, rolled a couple joints with them and didn't like em. I prefer regular papers, I feel they have less of an impact on taste and I roll better joints with them.

Cellulose is a plant product. If you're in the US with the subsidies it's probably from corn, other places they use cheaper saner sources like pulp wood or cotton linters. I have never in my life heard of using cellulose from corn, it's much more valuable as silage for feed. I'm sure it's probably being used, but that's just crazy.

That being said I tried the A brand papers (aldi or something?) and wasn't impressed. They worked well and smelled fine when they burned, but were 3x the cost of a standard rice paper (at least locally for me). I'm cheap, nobody sees the joints, it's a non-starter for me.

EDIT - I will buy em if they are the same price, but if some stupid gas station wants 2.99 for em, I'll get orange zig zags/bambu's. My local tobacco shop stopped carrying these JOB's, so I was able to get a dozen packs or so (what they had left) for $.25 ea.

i dont know why i said corn, i think corn was what popped in my brain when i thought cellulose... i think there is a clear rolling paper manufacturer that claims that they use cellulose from corn... dont quote me on that, but im pretty sure thats where my thoughts are all coming from here...

oh yeah, another reason i dont like smoking them is because they don't look like cigs... the only reason i usually smoke j's is when im on the road ... ill puff a j like a cigg in order to not cause any suspicion from onlookers...

i did a google search and most clear rolling paper co's claim they get their cellulose from wood... others just keep it vague and say "plant" cellulose

Barletta. You know how i roll! And I still have 2 of those packs left you gave me. They dont use them down here in Uruguay. The clear papers are great if you have some high quality smoke to go with them. The smoke down here belongs in a blunt so you dont taste the crap.

Thats the thing with them...IF you dont roll them properly..then they simply will not smoke good AT ALL...but IF you roll them good..then they compare to smoking a blunt..slow,smooth,strong hits,no taste..and it enhances the taste of the cannabis...i use my king size rolling machine..since rolling these by hand is sometimes hit or miss...try rolling one by hand when youre fucked up..NOT EASY!!

Never tried a machine rolled dube in one. Glass is my fav. I run over 10 strains now and each one has a different taste. I keep my glass as clean as possible and it lets me enjoy each flavor. I will pick up another pack of clears and try it with a roller. Hopefully it changes the experience. :rasta:

clear papers have their pros and cons. its nice for show if you left the jar at home and brought just a joint along.. some pros: They burn slower and more evenly. you can roll a half doobie in a whole paper and leave room at the end and see the smoke.
some cons: If you roll tight they wont stay lit. they can stick together. they arent stealthy at all. they have a sweet taste to them. you dont get alot in a pack usually.
I dont think they are a bad product if you can find real thin ones, but I usually put my money on club or elements, raw is a fav too.
