Ft.Hood is located in central Texas.
It's one of the largest military bases in the world.

for anyone not watching, I think the fact that its with the US Military, is making the info coming out very slowly. From what Ive gathered, one soldier opened fire (and was later killed) in the "Soldier Readiness Station" where troops are ready to be deployed. They are claiming now that he was the one who did all the shooting, but yet they have 2 other suspects in custody, so its unclear whether it was just 1 or 3 shooters.

I remember when a naive movingtocally, the product of a Republican apologist, first joined the military. I couldn't wait to talk to all my fellow soldiers about the good work we were doing for meagar pay, all in defense of a country we admire.
First night we got off the bus we did the standard shit until lights out. When lights out came, that's when everybody got to know each other. First everybody gave their cliche' answers as to why they were joined. As days went on and we got more comfortable around each other, people started being real. A few were homeless. Some were convicts who somehow were promised a lighter sentence if they join. Some college dropouts. Most of them could agree on one thing though-it was going to be great when we got into the war zone and could rape as much "towel head pussy" as we wanted. Then they discussed how they would go about it, and whether or not it was worth "capping" them afterwards to keep them quiet.
I realized pretty quick that the cliches and platitudes my father had fed me about the military were a bit different than reality-I was currently sleeping in a room full of the scum of our society guised in patriotism.
In other words, this shit doesn't surprise me at, and it doesn't really bother me, either. Quality control, in a way.

I can't wait for the 60 minutes jail house interview with this guy, it should be interesting. A Muslim psychologist who heard the deepest thoughts of our enlisted men and women on a daily basis.
I wonder if he snapped due to non-political mental health issues? Doubt it. Movingtocally Official Prediction-as his enlistment wore on he realized more and more what it's all about. It ate at him. He recently went home to visit his people and they told him the horror stories about what his employer was doing to decent men in their village. It ate at him for weeks, months maybe, and then the guilt of a paycheck from an organization he has grown to despise became a burden he could no longer carry. Decided to go down in a rain of fire.
