Truth in Trials Act to Allow for Medical Defense in Federal Courts

A new bill being introduced into the House of Representatives seeks to change Federal policy to allow people the medical marijuana defense in Federal courts.

The Truth in Trials Act will make a big difference as currently anyone charged with growing, possessing or using medical marijuana is prohibited from stating before a jury that they were following state laws and thus were legally growing or consuming cannabis.

This act would've been a boon to Ed Rosenthal, Eddy Lepp and many others who lost their marijuana growing cases because the court wouldn't allow them to introduce evidence that their grows were legal according to state law. Eddy Lepp is planning to appeal his 10 year sentence and a law like this will allow the introduction of all the evidence that was suppressed by the Feds.

This injustice has been perpetrated for years, resulting in imprisonment for acts that conformed to state law, but violated Federal drug laws. This new act will change that.

Hopefully this Truth in Trials law will be passed and provide a basis for appeal for so many. Fingers crossed!

Interesting that you have to pass a special law to allow truth in trials.

Yup, and it's been used "religiously" by Federal prosecutors and judges for a long time to suppress evidence in marijuana cases.

What's really weird is all the people in the courts (except the defendant) all conspire to do this, usually in a backroom, where the Judge tells the lawyers what he/she will allow in court.

Eddy Lepp was convicted as a result of exactly such shenaningans and miscarriage of justice.

Indeed, in America, JUSTICE IS BLIND to the truth because of this ongoing conspiracy to suppress evidence.

Great Thread Skip.

Also we know about the Jackson case in San Diego well on the ASA Video I heard there is a similar case that will be tried in Federal Court..

Will these two things happen at once?

I didn't catch the case name so maybe someone know that bit of info.

Some of our laws are absolutely silly. For example ( just to share a moment of humor ) in Florida, it's specifically against the law to have sexual relations with a porcupine. Silly Laws

All this No Cannabis in My County Stuff is silly but I bet it's all mostly White Governments that are behind it. That's not funny if it's true.

Explain please??

Locals where the governing bodies are predominately white.

Interesting line of thought isn't it.. A remnant of White America trying to keep America off that ethnic drug cannabis?

Could it be an under-current of the last efforts to resist cannabis in California? I keep that concept in mind when I read through news and posts.

If anyone can share info one way or another I would appreciate it.
