Cloning method for a hempy bucket

I got a pc grow case I want to produce some seeds in and the most efficient way I could mind is a food plastic container, I'd guess 3 liters.
I want to grow 2-3 plants from root directly to 12\12.

Now I need a media to clone in. I got jiffy (peat pellets) which are my favorite by far and I get pretty good results from them, but I'm looking for some media that will not hold water, like perlite and using peat pots kind of ruins that.
I got some rockwool cubes that do the same trick and are much bigger than my small jiffies.

I can't use aeroponics in my conditions from a risk of mold and rot.

I don't need a great rooting rate, I need only a 2-3 successful clones and I can take a LOT of cuttings as I need to shave the legs of my trees as they are nearing flowering and no light penetrates to the bottom of the trees.

What method would you think will do the trick?

I really like ready-gro plugs. After I see roots I stick em in one gallon grow bags then moving them to buckets after a couple weeks.

Jiffies should work great for hempy's. The root system quickly transitions into the clones will quickly transition into the medium.

First of all, thanks for your help guys, that was really fast :D

Don't have thoes around here :(

Wouldn't the jiffy hold too much water unlike the perlite?

And another question about hempys - I use (for now) GHS Total grow one part (it is the cheapest and I'm mainly playing around with hydro currently. My mains are in soil) and intend to use it with with this hempy. The label says the PH should be 5.5 to 6.5 before adding the nutes.
What PH should I aim for with the hempy with pure perlite after blending?
(If it matters I will probably grow some Blue Mystic by Nirvana and Cheese by Greenhouse Seeds in it)

It's a moot point very quickly, the plant quickly becomes dependant on the perlite. Rooter is nothing after that.

I used the peat pellets with success before switching to plugs. Also had success with cloning just in perlite. I run gh nutes Lucas formula without having any ph problems.

Hempy says no transplanting ;)

I take this to mean clone right in the hempy bucket?

I hope that its possible because that my plan 20oz hempy jugs SOG straight 12/12
cloning in the same pot i will be harvesting from!!

Hope it works n would be nice if someone has done something similar and would chime in with their approval.

you guys reply a lot faster than I thought.
I should really post a journal in here to get some ideas

I see. I'll put up the pellets in water PHed to 5.5 then :D

at what PH?

I would love some more info about cloning straight in perlite. have you seen someone doing it before?

I don't mess with ph at all. I use tap water with Lucas formula and molasses and my girls are girls are super healthy. You can clone straight into perlite, just keep it moist. As far as transplanting, if you go straight into flower or want to keep your plant in small containers it would be fine but clones would grow much slower if started in 5 gal buckets.

keeping is the problem. I don't want to mess around it too much.
i'll use the jiffy as I got a hand-free fool-proof method doing it. (getting the jiffy in a small plastic wine glass in a water bottle lid open and a bit of water on the bottom. no need to open it for air exchange and no need to mist as it will hold enough moisture. if humidity isn't high enough just drill a hole in the lid and put it on. just about that)
I have another hempy bucket for 2.5 weeks and the clone havent reached the rez. yet. Had heat and PH issues, now its just slow.
I guess my main problem was that the rez. was too far. I should have only trasplanted when there were enough roots.

This time around my setup will have only 7.5-8cm of heigh in the root space and most of it will be horizontical.
I will transplant when there will be at least 3cm long roots coming out of the jiffy.

:2cents: Perlite and mini hempy buckets made from 5oz cups. I like this method since I'm only using (and reusing) perlite + gh micro/bloom
I will look up for your grows ;D

Sorry Crane. I responded without fully reading/understanding your post. I just figured out what a hempy bucket is.
