Did you buy anything that turned out to be useless

some clones that were mislabeled, infected, etc... and a sulfur burner and every organic pesticide

Edit Sorry for being a little vague. Posted spontaneously. But save your money and don't buy a Sentinel CO2 regulator they freeze over. Ecoplus air pumps equal hot water in 24 hours. I've also bought over priced predator bugs to kill spider mites and thrips but had no luck using them.

Thanks sirripalot...yes heat seems to be an issue. Especially in summer.

SKUNK420...seems like diseased clones is a real problem in the dispensaries and such. Your post reminded me of something else...

Something that we've probably all experienced. I've bought seeds from shady seed dealers that either didn't germ or weren't anything like what they were supposed to be. I'll bet I've wasted hundreds of dollars on crappy seeds.
Cheers,

When he was referring to the mylar, I'm pretty sure he was talking about how it's woven. And because it's woven it has countless, unsealable, tiny gaps. Mites would have no problem getting through those. It's not actually "porous", it's just not manufactured as a solid piece.

But I agree, it is WAY over priced. black/white poly panda film is considerably cheaper, easier to work with and just as effective. The day I see someone show me a side by side with poly and mylar and see a significant difference, I will shit myself. I only buy the biggest rolls of poly they sell, 10x100' or something. At that size it's a... decent deal. The hydro stores still taking your lunch money, but they always will.

You are right about the hydro stores taking your lunch money. I have looked high and low for something similar to panda film at lowes, HD, and various other places (so I don't have to have it shipped to my house) and been unsuccessful. I even checked out ag stores in hopes of using some of there round bale wraps (black on inside white outside) which is quite similar. 1/3 the cost of panda film but starts at 2500 feet:yoinks:.

I use white paint and am happy but would love to get some panda film. It is expensive but definately worth it.

Usually a big hardware store sells black poly and white poly separately. I've seen some people buy it and then over lap it. It's not as thick as the poly at the hydro store and therefore kind of frustrating to work with. It's very easy to tear, etc.

To be honest, you're much better off with white paint. You can't imagine what I go through trying to get that shit FLAT and SMOOTH. The only reason I use poly is because I frame tents with 2x4's and then wrap them in poly so I don't have to be a real carpenter. Because if there's anyone that shouldn't be allowed in home depot, it's probably me.

Although, I have to say, it's nice to have poly to line floors with. Although if that's your priority you should probably get pond liner anyways. And if you have carpet and throw poly on it, it's kind of a pain. No real hard surface. But, some how I've still spent hundreds of dollars on poly and mylar. Again and again.

After this next run, I'm only going to be using grow labs. No more bullshit. Setup and break down in minutes. Money's not an issue with something like that for me. I've just spent too much time with 2x4's and poly, cabinets and mylar,... I'm done with it. If I'm not framing 10x10 rooms w/ drywall, I'm going to use non-DIY tents.

Hmm, yeah too small of an AC will burn up fast.

Bulb-style ozonators suck, bulbs burn out every 6 months (or need replacing because they get dim.) I use a CD800 unit and an 8" duct fan in my airlock, it always smells fresh and clean, never any weed smell. Without it the entryway reeks, period. It never touches the plants.

Expensive nutes, I've used most of em and it doesn't work any better the cheap stuff, and often worse.

Cheap oscillating fans suck too, my air kings have lasted over 4 years now though.

Oh and never buy the long blue airstones, they'll break before you get the hoses on em.

Ecoplus air pumps do suck, and burn out fast. The big beige metal ones have yet to fail on me, going 3 years now.

Hey sirripalot, you wanna sell that Hydrogen? PM me if it's an NG model or it can be converted....

I bought Ministry of Cannabis Little Angel auto fems, and they are the worst plants I have ever seen. I got about 1/8oz out of five plants. They were given every opportunity to grow as big as they could.
The first batch of seeds were screwed up and I grew out a big nasty male that could have hosed up my whole outdoor had I not been on top of it. They replaced the seeds with some crap that should be blackballed.
What a joke to put such miserable work on a consumer. And even as happy as I am with their Carnival offering, they will never get another dime of mine, and I will lobby to help others not waste their coin as well. See, MOC, that is how the free market works when your greedy ass decides to take the short road.

See, IMO to turn out work like that for profit, is either greedy or stupid...I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and assume they are just greedy.

just do a search in the forums for a/c light reflectors. one member has done some really good testing on them to see wich ones actually put off more light etc.. learned alot wish i would have read that before buying the 4 hoods i bought. so i try to use this site to research before i buy somrthing new.. great thread by the way....

Pretty much any name brand nute. I used PBP in DWC before with good results, but that was years ago. It seems like they changed the recipe(different rating now) to where it has a low shelf life, causing DWC plants to die in a well aerated and cooled res. This is only anecdotal and I'm probably wrong, since it's really popular. Now I just use dry ferts, compost tea, and the LC mix. Healthiest plants I ever grew, with a lot of room for error. Not the biggest or fastest growing(that was DWC), but I'm a personal grower so it's not too big a deal.

AN Bud Blood at a single half dose early in flower made my crop harsh and sparky. Fuck that metallic poison.

only thing I've purchased and no longer use is the Sun System Bright Wing. At the time I had no idea what the micro growers had accomplished with small CFLs. The Bright Wing works, per se, but for the cost of the bulbs it covers a very small canopy.
