EasyRyder under CFL + LED : 1 plant to rule them all

First off I wanna start this thread off by saying that I like IC forums better than all the other weed forums out there. The people here don't falsify information to get a laugh. There are a ton of pros on here. I've seen some of the best information on this site after OG closed. That being said, I created this new alias here for my journal.. and I love to cook weed.

I've grown before and this time due to my new job, I'm in a new area I've never grown in before and even though I have 2 carbon scrubbers + ozone gen, I don't want to run into any problems with smell. So it'll start with 1 plant and if that works out well, I'll graduate to more.

Equipment on this grow will be 20x32x64 mylar'd tent
90w UFO LED - 660nm red 450nm blue 7:1 ratio
1- 2' 2 bulb T-5 5000k 2x24w
2- 55w 2700k CFL spirals
1- 25w 5000k CFL
1- 26w 2700k CFL

Kinda sux right now that the Easyryder seed I got from Attitude Seed bank's pick and mix is in the suck zone right now (took 10 days to pop out of the seed). Seems to lack vigor. However when I transplanted to a bigger pot to scope out the roots after day 4 from seed, I did notice that a lot of roots had grown. But its growing so slow on top I feel like it's never gonna get bigger.

plant is sitting in a liter pot, above FFOF and at the very bottom is some hydroton for a kick in drainage. Gonna get transplanted to a 3 gallon soon as she needs it.

Day 1-5 I had the lights on Non-stop (24/0)

after reading a post about easyryder, I changed it up to 20/4.. hopefully it will make more of a difference, but the name of the game is PATIENCE (not one of my many virtues):wallbash::yoinks:

So here we are on day 6 after it sprouted. it's currently 3" away from 1 25w veg cfl and 1 26w bloom cfl..

I found that while it was under LED 6" or so that it wasn't gaining any vertical height and just developing root structure. So I'm gonna wait to turn on the UFO again. Any help/advice would be welcomed.

mutation

on day 10 she was looking hungry so i gave her some big bloom, grow big supplemented by a teeny amount of cal-mag. ph run off came out around 6.8-7

day 12:
I noticed on day 11, she was starting to look a lil funny. Then I noticed her leaf pattern wasn't growing symmetrical on one side -- picture explains it all -- did she mutant on me???
attachment.php

I've also gone back to the 24/0 light cycle because it seemed to be helping her gain height.. as week 2 ends I'll return to 20/4
temps are 65 lows, 78 highs with very little fluctuation during the day. RH is steadily around 45% when shes dry + 55% when she gets a watering

after i took the pic i stuck my fingers in her pot and noticed she was rather dry. I felt inclined to water her. She received a plain water feeding. I don't want there to be much Salt buildup or any risks of nute lockout since I've had to deal with that once and it was NOT pleasant.

That plant is growing awfully slow for an AF, I have never grown easyrider but I have seen other grows of it and wasn't too impressed.

Mdanzig announced today that the only thing keeping his release of Sour60 (Masterlow x Sour Bubble x DJ shorts Blueberry) is packaging, so it should be on seedboutique soon. Also, Mossy's Jem is being re-released and should be out by now.

BTW, are the easyriders feminized?

thx for stoppin in. this is a fem easyryder from the attitude seedbank.. it was from their pick and mix section. After finding a few easyryder grow journals on gc and riu forums i can only assume i got a bad batch. I might just start something else on 18/6 and leave it in the corner if it doesn't show vigor soon. I'll update regularly.

I was doing the easyryder as test run to see if I should always have an AF goin on.. but this bad seed leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I'll prolly try the Sour 60 cause i like supporting ic members. I bet their gonna sell quick.

They will, but don't let one bad AF put you off, they are a great advancement in cultivation. There are several others you might want to try: Auto Ak, Bluestreak, Diesel Ryder, and many others.

Don't worry about it, my last mutant ended up becoming one of the largest plants I have ever seen. Although she did take forever...

day 18 - back on 20/4 the led

really growing kickass at about 14" from the led
got fed some 'Sweet' - Grape from botanicare and big bloom in her last watering. she still has her cotyledals(sp?) so she doesnt seem to be suffering from any nitrogen deficiencies since shes in FFoF.

I used to grow in FFOF for a couple years. I always found that when you have a nice mix 60/40 mix dirt to perilite you get much faster root growth, which in turn gives you faster top growth. You should also remember that the nute line your using is all organic therefor not very potent. You might think of trying a shot of N even though it in the soil, your little sprout dosent look dark green enough( in my opinion) If you really want fast growth switch to 100% coco growing, the diffrence is AMAZING!! And it soooo much less work! Good luck, peace!

Forgot to mention on day 16 I transplanted into a 3 gallon 2 part ffof 1 part ff light warrior

the leaves are rather dark I dunno if you can tell with led + cfl beaming off it tho. I'll take a pic with led off next update, but she's showing her lady pistils and shes still quite short and squat, looking forward to her exploding in height and bushing out. I moved her to around 6" from the led with the hopes it will make her grow more intensely. She seems to be reacting fine to it so far.

The biggest advantage to having LED's is that you can get them so much closer than other types of light. I could put CFL's 6" from the top and the plants would be fine, with your LED's you could get them within a couple inches.

i through in my 2700k 55w cfl and its in there with a 24w 5000k. Should I switch it up for my second 55w 2700k cfl? It's about 4" from the plant and has the fan directly on her. tent temperatures around 77degrees Farenheit and doesnt go over 83. RH at about 40-45%

Looks good bro I bet (she i hope) will be an awesome monster for you. Are you planning on training her, or letting it go natural?

I really don't want to stress this girl more than i ALready have by transplanting her, she seemed a bit shocked.. and looked like she stunted growth for about 4 days. She's finally back on track though, flowers are starting to develop fast! But as far as training would go, it would be to keep her short and squat and as far as that goes, she already is! However, if she starts to grow unruly and I can't manage the light on her, I will start to train her. But the nodes on this easyryder are literally so close i'd have to find some very thin string or chain a bunch of paper clips because I don't want to hurt her.

on day 24 i stuck my finger 2-3 inches into the soil and it felt rather dry so since her last feeding was plain water, I gave her tiger bloom, big bloom, and some calmag.

Day 25 pictures, her bottom most leaves are starting to get a yellow crispy tinge on the ends of em, can either be a nitro deficiency or the fact the leaves maybe touched the soil when they were wilting on day 24 for some water.. and the constant fan on em might've brushed all the bottom leaves there. Either way, i just need reassurance it's not my tent offgassing.. temps max reach 88degrees if i dont leave my vortex fan on while im sleeping.

heres a pic of her whole:

heres a closeup of the browning/yellowing leaf tips

and heres a shot from the side of body,, mmmmm mmm calyxes are startin to get frosty.. love that tiger bloom baby!!
