Cheeb's 5400w Coco Grow

First off very impressive grow room!! What are your room dimensions?? I'm currently running 3600w but was looking to add another 1800 if I've got the space. If you're looking for cheap effective drippers, if there is a Lowes in your area check out their irrigation section. I use their 2 GPH drippers drain to waste and couldn't be more pleased. This is my 3rd CoCo run and I've found that my plants were much happier once I switched to a consistent interval based feeding.

Not sure if this is pure coincidence but this run half of my room was recycled coco and the other half was Atami BCuzz. The plants grown with the BCuzz coir were showing some similar cal mag issues, it seems that the BCuzz may require a stronger intitial flush than other brands. 5ml per gallon of CalMag+ pretty much cleared up the problem right away.

All in all great run, I'll be taggin along!!

Thanks for the reply Hustle.

Room Dimensions is a normal bedroom say 12'x15' - I'm growing in around 10'x12'.
My lights are pretty tightly placed I think compared to what a lot of people would space 600w lights.

I've added CalMag to my feed water @ 5ml per gallon and I think that took care of the issues I was having.

The 2gal bag plants are killing it. The larger widows in the back are still not 100% . Leaf deficiencies are not occuring..but the plants are not really perky and have janky looking leaves. Clawing.. New growth is perky since I've been on 12/12 so I think we are good to go.

I've just been saturating these with my water wand and they are looking good.

Hustle - is that dutch bucket system you pictured recirculating?..or run to waste

The stretch is on!

These things are due for a heavy trimming and cleaning out over the next few days.
I'll keep the pics coming .

Awesome grow brotha, thanks for sharing Cheeb. I have a couple questions regarding your comments here on spacing and room dimensions...if room size was not an issue, approximately 23' x 12' and you had the same 9 600w lights, how would you space and arrange them? Ideally how many plants would you like to run under the 9 lights if space was not an issue? Thanks for the info man!

unless we are talking vertical 600s / and trees I wouldnt use all that space for 9 600w hung horizontally. I'd most likely hang them and keep the lights / plants in a footprint of about what I'm doing here...12x10 or 12x12..hell even 9x9. Hang them too far apart and you'll see valleys and dips in the canopy normally.

I spaced this room as such because I pretty much took a standard length section of ridgid ducting from lowes and cut it in half. In a 4x8 tent butted my 3 daystar acs together flange to flange. No ducting was used. I feel that light intensity w/ a good enviroment is key to tight nugs.

I dont have the experience to know MY ideal footprint and/or plant numbers. Most of my experience is 12 plants in a 4x8 under 3 600w.... 36 total in a 9 light room. I like to tie them over to fill the canopy quick. Gives me lots of potential tops.

this rooms got 25 plants under 6 600w and then I've got a large plant per light in the back.

I would like to try some trees w/ vertical 600s should temperature allow.

update - day 40 flower

not much to say - just pics

I did hit them with a single dose of Bloombastic (60mL sample) @ 2mL per gallon. I'm unsure if its done anything...with 1 application.

These ladies have been thirsty - fed Hesi Coco @ 20mL per Gal, CalMag Plus @ 5mL per Gal, and Hesi PK 13/14 at around 5mL per Gal = TOTAL EC round' 1.8-2.0

I do have some bleached tops - can never avoid it..but weary of raising my lights and getting a reduced yield.

Its been labor compaired to the typical ebb&gro runs, but looks like it'll be paying off provided I dont get any bud rot.

good job!
PLEASE tell us about your trimming/prunning techniques.

- no specific pruning technique - I didnt really prune much - just one massive strip down one or two weeks into bloom taking off all lower developing flowers.

Thanks!

Room was harvested.. around 113 oz bone dry from 5400w. Not great - but its still nice.
took 3 8hr days to trim with a little help. Quality is top notch.

Had to take them down maybe a few days to a week early as odor got out of control. I had a Can 100 recirulating w/ ozn-1 in the room and other larger ozone generator in the attic and still had odor issues. I was forced to pull through my lights in this senario which led to smell getting sucked out..still not treated fast enough by the ozone gen in the attic - im guessing

I turned off my lights and ventilation at this point and let them sit in the dark for a few days before harvesting..maybe cut them at 57 days or so..not really sure.

Dont have anymore pics but the buds where large and falling over. About as big as my forearm I'd say. Kept a bit for the head stash but the majority of its long gone and the room has been dismantled. Can finally get some well needed rest ..

I may be able to get some dried stash shots of the final..but not sure. Dont have a working cam at the moment.

till next time
