White Rhino or Big Bang?

Hello all! I'm looking for the next "it" strain... I want something with a relatively short finish period (not more than 10 weeks) and a high yield... don't we all?? After perusing the strain offerings from Green House Seeds on Seedboutique.com, I've narrowed it down to White Rhino or Big Bang. Anyone have any opinion(s) on either of these strains? They have both won awards, either at the Cannabis Cup or other competitions, which I figure is a good sign, and they both finish in 9 weeks and produce between 800 and 900 g/m2, which is about as high as I found among any of the strains offered by Green House. (BTW, I decided to go with Green House because they (and Barney's) have consistently good records with the HTCC) I understand that a little potency is lost in the bargain, and yet at 13% (White Rhino) and 15.5% (Big Bang), they are still nothing to scoff at... and I want YIELD!!.... Any opinions on other strains that fit the bill are welcome, too... Thanks in advance!

Also you need to take into consideration that a lot of GHS awards from the HTCC were won before Arjan took over.

I grew the Nirvana White Rhino and it was kickass weed.

My last attempt I got 0 for 6 beans planted, tho...

The next "it" strains are actually found on the bay - OJD's SSSDH, OG bx

the HTCC winners are chosen from the best pheno's of 100's of plants - your results will vary.

If you want yield and good high check out - Northern Lights, Northenberry, heavy duty fruity, Cannacopia deep chunk crosses, big bud, Sweet tooth and a ton more.

Try checking out the smoke reports here and by googling.

BTW the reports I have read indicate a lot of variation in GH products.

The super-lemon haze is awesome smook and a great taste and the lemon-skunk is also very good ..out of the 2...IMO...I liked the rhino better then the big-bang..IMO

Shanti should update the stock at Seedboutique any week now. It's a great seedbank, fast and reliable with great customer service. Freebies are a bonus too.

Well due to personal customer service issues (among others) I don't support GHS, but yes, SLH is supposed to be great herb(check out fiveleggedgoat's pics).

You don't have to decide between them! GHS has 5 pack assortments. That said, all of GHS is feminized and there will be a chance of hermies. It happened to a friend,even though none has on me. White Rhino is really just afghan x white widow. Shantibabba (Mr Nice Seeds) was working at GHS when he bred WR. As said earlier Mr. Nice's Medicine Man is probably the best WR. Mr Nice gives around 20 seeds, so you should find a real keeper to clone. Nirvana has taken elite clones and crossed them with their purple skunk male, so you might get a purple pheno if you go with them for WR. Nirvana has been offering WR for sometime, and the clone mother probaly was an original cut of WR back when Shantibabba was at GHS.

Didn´t try GHS White Rhino, but Big Bang looks and smells much better than when u smoke it, best I can say it is average, would not recommend it. I´ve heared some good comments in a spanish forum for White Rhino by people who normally are very critical with GHS, but they where talking about the regular version wich is no longer available I think.

why ingemar strains produce more resin than mr nice ? and the whole debate around the origin of the whole white family is contreversial...ingemar accused shanti of stealing is strains. some people accused arjan to take the strain from shanti ... well a lots of shit in the shady seeds biz that everyone should consider and take with a grain of salt . none of us will ever know the truth . well if you consider that even sam's skunk is debated to be from another guy... so how to be certain of things we have no clue and no proofs ?

what to say of nirvana that got incredebile widow and rhino that many pointed to be better than mr nice or ghs ?


rezdog even said that arjan got all the legit cuts in is collection .is mr nice still have the same old genetics because is widow version was not that frosted it used to be in the 90's(pushed to 11 weeks) and a little different of what i used to grew way back in the 90's...xplain me this...i know some hate rez, arjan and many more ...so i bet there will be 10 guys who will argue to death for one or another .


my tough here is some people bash ghs seeds because its the thing to do to gain some reputation . no matter if some have a clue ...they bash this seed coe or another because its the safe thing to do in some circle .

i didnt bottered with ghs seeds because of all the negative shit ive read since a decade . a friend of mine blind tested me on 5 strains and i was fucking impressed by is result . i had no clue and never tough it could be ghs....it was miexed colored pack that gave this 5 strains....guess what...i never expected that kind of buds from ghs because of the whole internet thing .


by experience....grow yourself and make your own mind . to answer your main question , ghs rhino is great and 2 pheno will came at the top , the lilac pheno is my favorite , the other main pheno is more spicy , flowery but with more hach aftertaste .go to the ghs sub forum here there some great grow report with pictures . here in the trains and genetics section is anti ghs so its hard to have an unbiased opinion .

big bang, never grow that but a few grow reports talk about a green apple pheno that is the main thing to look . at the price 25 $ for 5 fem its a good deal in my book .

I currently am running a batch of big bang...my first run was great but i have a few seeds (3 out of 5) that are real leggy assuming you get the right pheno its a great plant..that said white rhinoo is very reputable and has consistant results so its truly as toss up...I would go for thw gamble with big bang...that said i havent grown rhino in 4 years so thats my 3 cents

Which is why my 5th place finish with pot from a seed grow that I made by crossing two other IC growers crosses (moles UC x white) x Beancounters Bubba Chunk) then planted only 3 seeds and only had 1 female survive was, in my mind, the 420 cup people's champion. Alas though nobody cared. I whupped SOMA by twice as many points as I finished out of 1st place too. I crushed everything entered by greenhouse. Everybody entered elite cuts or special cuts of strains. I entered a mutt and almost won.

Yeah it still stings that nobody recognized that fact. Next year I win it all. OK I am going back to my lair now and hide until 420 cup where I will seek revenge on the cut masters.

I've seen Big Bud, and it certainly is properly named, and I remember liking it very much, although it was a very, very long time ago. I guess my question has morphed into: Who are the reliable seed stores? My last batch I got from Nirvana, I ordered 10 each of Master Kush, White Widow, and Early Misty. 1/10 of the Master Kush popped, 2/10 of the EM, and I think 6/10 of the White Widow. I wasn't all that impressed with any of it, to tell the truth, which is why I'm looking for a new provider.

For instance, does anyone know a reliable bank for Big Bud?

And any other reliable banks ppl have had good experiences with would be great, too. Thanks in advance...

secondo, avoid big bud at all cost...its weak no matter the breeders . better go with withe rhino no matter wich breeder you choose . hate it or not ghs rhino is 45 $ for 5 fem which is cheap , mr nice not available , nirvana got a fem version for 35 $ for 5 seeds .

GHS is cheaper per pack but Mr. Nice is far cheaper per bean, do the math. Also Shantibaba will update Seedboutique any week now, for all we know they could be on their way right now...and lots of Nirvana strains are crossed with their purple skunk daddy.
Finestkind: There are no pure Big Bud seeds available, It's a clone only variety.
