Oregon has a much higer ammount of usable cannabis then Ca.

Senate Bill 1085, which took effect on January 1, 2006, raises the quantity of cannabis that authorized patients may possess from seven plants (with no more than three mature) and three ounces of cannabis to six mature cannabis plants, 18 immature seedlings, and 24 ounces of usable cannabis. However, those state-qualified patients who possess cannabis in amounts exceeding the new state guidelines will no longer retain the ability to argue an "affirmative defense" of medical necessity at trial. Patients who fail to register with the state, but who possess medical cannabis in amounts compliant with state law, still retain the ability to raise an "affirmative defense" at trial.

Other amendments to Oregon's medical marijuana law redefine "mature plants" to include only those cannabis plants that are more than 12 inches in height and diameter, and establish a state-registry for those authorized to produce medical cannabis to qualified patients.

Great info but I did one to make one small clarification, Section 22 states ""Seedling or start" means a marijuana plant that has no flowers, is less than 12 inches in height, and less than 12 inches in diameter. A seedling or start that does not meet all 3 criterion will be considered a mature plant."

Whats the best county in Cali for growing? I heard that Humboldt has a 100 ft limit on growing but no plant limit. Does that mean that you could put two buildings on some property and be allowed 200 ft? Or how exactly does that work?

Correct what I like is the 24oz you can have on hand at anytime to use. I dont think there is a state that has more then that. I lived in oregon and it was great never had any issues with leo. There the State runs the program OMMP and you have to register your info with them all of it name address blah blah. I always had 24oz to use and somtimes more as some strains woud be huge so Had to hid some a familys home. But for me I had pletty to last all summer since I dont like growing in summer TOO HOT!!. My winter grows where arround 4lbs with 2 600w and 1 400w hps. The weather there is cooler for much longer then here in Ca witch allowed for a longer growing season but when summer hits everything get turned off. I needed my AC LOL

Well, I love CA for a variety of reasons so I'm trying out West right now.

But if I didn't have an irrational hard-on for the ocean, I'd go to Michigan. They don't have a dispensary scene yet, but they probably will soon. You can grow a dozen plants for yourself and you can become a caregiver.

I'd move to a small town on Lake Michigan and head to Ann Arbor on the weekends to party. I'd party well-the cost of living in Michigan is extremely low relative to the Western States.

Hope it works out for you.

I am moving to CO myself.

I plan on starting my own "Wellness Center", in the Snowmass/Aspen area.

PM if you want to "compare notes".

It's 100 square feet of canopy, so vert grows don't gain anything. That's per doctors rec too, so yes you can combine them and grow together or form a collective.

From CANORML.org

Humboldt Co.

  • County guidelines allow patients 100 square feet and 3 lbs w/ no plant number limit. Cities of Eureka and Fortuna PDs and CHP enforce SB 420 limits (6 mature/12 immature plants, 1/2 lb).
However, don't think you're going to move to Humboldt as a young white guy (or guys) and expect to rent a thing, the landlord will see you coming and enforce a strict no grow clause in your lease, with frequent inspections. Bring enough money to buy a place, or find another county. Landlords know more about growers than most cops in Humboldt, they know exactly why you're there.

Lol I wish I could buy. Haha don't have the cash for that. So Santa Cruz is a better option for someone looking to move out to Cali?

Yep, SC is nice enough, check the canorml site for county by county laws though, pick a good one! (not Humboldt) ;)

For those of you that want cheap digs, consider michigan.
Mmj has yet to really take off but it will so its more of a ground floor
opportunity than CA or CO. Decent 2+ bedroom apartments for less than $500/mo.
Homes w/ garage and fenced yard for $700.
Even cheaper than that if you look some. And good areas too, not ghetto.
It doesnt have mountains or oceans but the fishing and deerhunting are great.

Maine might be looking up, after yesterday's vote establishing a process for opening dispensaries in the state. Cheap real estate, relatively low penalties for growing or possession, medical marijuana, now dispensaries.

Whup-ass winters, there, though....

boroboro:interesting you bring up maine. its been on my list for a while because of the 98 plant misdemeanor situation :rasta:
98 plants is a lot if you grow them right :)

$7,100. Some houses can be had for $500 in some areas. Not a good place to live unless you have some dragon skin and your license to carry a concealed weapon.
