1000w Closet SOG

Herro Guys,

Been lurking for a long time and decided to post my next grow. Due to security reasons I have had to scale down my grow considerably, its now in the closet. I have a air cooled 1000w bulb in there now for extra penetration and will either be adding another 1000w or swap them out for 2 600w lamps (preferably 3). Hopefully I will be adding a Co2 configuration to the closet for some extra bang. BTW I have a medical card, although above my plant limit, I shouldn't finish with more than my weight limit.

I am currently using a locally mixed organic soil. I add my own worm castings and some composted farm animal manure. I supplement with AN Iguana Juice, Cal-Mag, and Liquid Karma. The strains in the closet are, from left to right (mostly) C99xDurban Thai, Sour Diesel, Violator Kush, Skunk, Arcata Trainwreck, Grapefruit Diesel, Super Silver Haze, Strawberry Rhino, and about a dozen blueberries in the far right end of the closet. I have never done attempted any type of SOG so I will be interested to see how the strains do, I know the blueberry for sure isnt a SOG plant, but I am very curious to see how they do. These ladies are about 3 weeks old.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks for checkin out my ladies!

How big is that closet? Looks like you've got everything under control. I'd say flip time is coming really soon, and you'll have a little trimming job ahead of you to really direct the plants' energies to the tops...

The closet is 6'x2' exactly. I have the light about 26 inches above the canopy for now, temps are at about 76-78 with my fan dialed down to half way. I know it would be more efficent to go with lower wattage and more lights but that is not an option at this moment, it will be later.

You know I already hacked off a lot of lower branches, took maybe 100 clones total. Except for the blueberries, how much vegetation should I have below the canopy? None? This is after my first trim but before my second trim, i took off maybe 1-2 branches on most of them.

BTW, Carlin was one of the greatest. Up there will Bill Hicks (;

looking good! very good use of the 6x2
how is your ventilation ran?

subscribed:lurk:

Im using a 6" Vortex Inline with a variable speed contoller. This wasn't really planned out to be in the closet so the ventilation is ghetto rigged with some flex ducting out the sliding door which i fastened to the top and made a false wall out of 1x1's and some panda film. Instead of having the sliding door hit the ducting, it now hits the 1x1 false wall i made.

I plan to have the hood ventilation seperate so I can put a CO2 system in there before flowering. I plan to router out a hole in the drywall so i can exhaust into my living room and so I can totally seal the closet with panda/expoy/tape/weather stripping.

Any suggestions from closet growers??????

the best way to cool a 1000 watt in a closet is to vent the hot air into the attic and let it naturally discipate up and out...

I am in a 1200sq ft 2bd 1ba apartment. The closet wall is placed where i can just cut through the dry wall in between the studs and put a dryer vent and use the 6" or so of wall space to fab a little muffler.

Hopefully i can get my camera back so I can get some good pictures. My blueberry grows a small row of trich's all the way up the stem and leaves in veg and it drips resin in flower, can't wait!

Been really busy with work so haven't been able to flower the girls yet. I decided to do heavy trimming (on all but the sour d and blueberry) and reveg for some tighter nodes. I ended up trimming off about between 1-2" of root, trimming all but 3 inches or so of nodes and adding new soil and a perlite drain layer.

Finally got the closet about 75% done and sealed for co2 with 6ml plastic, epoxy, staples, and lots of gorilla tape(2 rolls).

I just need to tack up mylar, velcro and panda the entrance, add another panda barrier between the rolling door and the first panda sheet, isolate the hood fan, and soapy water test the ducting for leaks. For now I just put my scrubber on the hood until I want to seal her up.

Should have a ppm-3 controller/valve/tank by the end of the week in time to veg for a couple more days with the extra co2 before flipping the lights. I will be using a worm casting and bio bizz grow tea bubbled for 20 hours for the first two weeks of flower and then another tea recipe from a friend with some AN Iguana bloom near the peak with a proper 2 week flush. Really hoping I can get two 600w in there before long, but it doesn't look like it will fit the budget with an environmental controller in the mix. Will keep ya updated :)
