6 month old 18K mini split in my sealed room just crapped out on me :badday:. unfuknbelievable !!! just flipped my girls to 12/12 3 days ago. will they be ok without any light for 24hrs ??? i need some advice from anyone who has knowledge about sealed room set-ups. i can get the unit exchanged but will have to wait 8 to 10 business days which ain't happen'n. my main question though is " Will a dual hose ac unit that they sell at the hydro store work in a sealed room without exhausting co2 & the fresh ganja aroma? " if you are using dual hose ac in a sealed room, whats the best way to set it up. please let me know what ac system you guys use. i will spend whatever i have to too save my girls. just two things though, i need to be able to get the ac today and a window unit is not possible in my situation. please guys i really need some input. you always come thru for me before. please do it again.

They will be fine for 24 hrs with no light. The other questions you will have to wait for someone more knowledgeable than myself.

The short answer is, It wont work very well.

I used to have a 10k Danby dual hose a/c. It was a nice unit, for a dual hose, but it still pulled out co2 and some stink.

I had mine sucking air from an adjacent bedroom and venting into the attic. The exhaust vent was wrapped in insulation to help get rid of the heat.

If you can, use a filter to scrub the air inside the room. Or hook the filter up to the exhaust of the a/c and hope it does not reduce the efficiany of the unit too much.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the mini split. Let us know how it turns out.

I just went thru some shit with my mini split. Was running for two weeks before the control board on the outside unit burned out on me. And because it's a cheap brand, parts aren't available anymore.
May I ask what brand mini split it was? I'd be surprised if its a Mr.Slim.
Your plants will be fine for 24 hrs. Can't help you with the dual hose AC thoguh, sorry.

if its only 8-10 days just buy urself a portable and stand it on top of a 50 gallon rez for drainage. a good one is gonna run u at least 5 hundred. when ur mini gets fixed take ur portable and sell it to a friend or put it on the web somewhere and get something back for it so u dont take a big hit.

my .02

good luck with ur girls man..dont worry ..you'll be fine

I'd really like to know what brand it is and what went wrong with it and why it's getting replaced instead of repaired.

Hi there man,
I had a bulb blow on me 6wks into 12/12 with no spare in the drawer, this happened on a Saturday evening. They were in darkness until Monday evening when the replacement bulb was fitted with no ill effects, as yours are only a couple of days into 12/12 they'll be fine ;)

Not exactly sure what you mean here but I think you mean extracting from 2 rooms with 1 x fan connected to 2 x filters?

my apolz if I have it wrong but I think you would need a damper unit to maintain even air-flow between the two areas. As air always follows the path of least resistance so if the areas are different sizes or one has a shorter length of ducting the flow won't be even

Us growers are often ingenious and can be very creative so I'm sure you'll get it sorted out bud :rasta:

thanks everyone for all your input. i ended up all night experimenting with intake & exhaust. didn't want to drop $600 on a dual hose ac just in case i end up needing a whole new split. since i have two can 75 and two 8" vortex for scrubbing why not give it a try. so far so good these two days. ambient temp when lights are on is between 72-77 thanks to cold outside night. lights off temp is between 65-72. only problem i have is with humidity. its between 20%-25%. not sure how much it will effect my girls cuz i always had my dehumid. at 40% before. i'm also not sure if i have the right amount of cfm for intake&exhaust since my room is 10X12X8 and i started out with a sealed room set-up. i also use a speed controller to lower the intake air to cause a little bit of negative pressure. i only did this cuz i remember from reading from here a while ago about neg. pressure but i could be wrong. had to unplug my co2 controller and connected the 4 burner co2 gen to a digital timer to come on for 3 minutes every 30 minutes. my girls look happy for now since most of there leaves are pointing up. hopefully within 2 weeks i should have the room back to being controlled.
