masterKahn good point, when I said moving the CFLs I use Y adapters with power strip adapters, I'm always positioning the bulbs to get the light footprint where I want it personally, where an Hid just casts a larger foot print. Also keep in mind with HID that ballast you buy 1x only ( in theory ).

Also I think it was Barry Cooper the OP was referring to who said this, in his video he says they produce no heat which is WRONG

Flouros vs MH/HPS ?

Flouros vs MH/HPS ?

Hi All !! Nice Info!! Back in the mid to late 80's everyone was either using
Flouros, or MH, nobody used HPS much.......This past May 2009, ran into an old friend that I have not seen since 1994 at a concert, smoked him up with some killer Grapefruit X Haze.....he said to me that is some of the BEST smoke he has ever had, except that the smoke from the 80's was a bit better...??? 2 reasons he said, back then more was grown outdoors under natural sunlight, and indoor
grown was with the 2 lite sources as mentioned above and the major bulb companys color temp was 5000K/5500K on MH bulbs back then, now look how many types of bulbs have different Kelvin ratings, the new Blue bulb from Hortilux
for example 1000w $200+ back in the 80's MH 1000 5500K bulb was $80~100 tops, now the Venture 1000MH 5000K is close for the $100 range. The mix of
6400K + 3000K = 5000K with the T-5 flouros is this correct blending of light?
How bout the T-8 flouros with the Phillips 32w 48" Natural sunlight 5000K tubes
for veg all the way to harvest!!?? T-5's are very good, but HOT to the touch &
they burn leaves and bud....but T-8's are bright up close and cool to touch & no burn, the fixtures can use 2 types of tubes T-12/T-8...the latter is 33%
brighter if T-8 tubes are used, very impressed with the light quality, line them
vertical and horizontal in the grow area, and the QUALITY of the RESIN is BETTER/STICKIER , but lack in yield is the toss off and if you know how to make your buds thick and dense, then even better for you....Peace!!!
