Here's what a breeder friend said about the Chem 4...
it's all personal preference. my circle has grown every single chem out there.
9/10 growers prefer the chem#4 to the chemD
and 9/9 of those growers prefer the chem#3 to the chem#4
The chem4 spanks the chemD in every category except stink, and chem4 is not a light stinker as many have argued. You're doing something wrong if you are not getting SFV-OGK like smells from your #4, she smells like an OGkush, and can confuse a lot of OG heads. Madrus, my guess is your axe hand is too aggressive to allow proper ripening on the chem4
All that said, the #3 is the chem I keep. It doesn't yeild like the #4, but it's close. The win on the #3 is the actual nuggets it makes, kush nuggets that are denser, better looking, and smell like the best sour diesel ever. The #3 is an all around more vigerous grower, mother, rooter, vegger, and done earlier than the 4 or the D. The 91 is too low yeilding/stretchy to really bother with. chronic tokers will have fun with the chemD and the 91 however, the flavor on both of those is DANK. you can't go wrong with a chem... each and every chem I have grown/smoked has very high potency and fantastic yeild with a high priced flowering time, usually 70+ days.
on TMV, I don't have it on any of the west coast chems... but I will say that every single cut I have gotten from the chemdawg/JJNYC crew has been fucked from the start with exactly the same shit that raggamon(i think?) posted. The first of the two pics. Stardawg, sourD recently came to me totally fucked, and now has spread to The White, and who knows what other moms.

Had a chance to hang with Joeshmoe and he said the 4 smokes like OG and the 3 reminded him of Sour Diesel.
It's almost an identical smell match... I prefer the smell/taste of the SFV OGK, but I get higher from the Chem #4. I skipped smoking anything yesterday, and today I sparked my first joint in late afternoon... It was Chem #4. I got so high, my stomach growled from pot-induced hunger pangs, and I was nearly uncomfortably stoned. Chem D is very close to that level of high, but not quite IMO.
Hey CC- Great thread mate, I have been following it closely after I bought some Chem4 x Dud beans. I have two females vegging now, one has smaller thinner blade leaves the other are bigger and more traditional Chem looking being quite big. I haven seen Chem4 vegging how does it look? Im keen to find a C4 leaning pheno as the cuts dont float around in my part of the world.

Proteus are your supposive tmv cut's directly under the lamp?tha white i had showed some early sign's of this splotching..but i moved her from directly under the HPS,and she threw normal leaf formation from there on....maby just a cal/mag issue?

A friend thinks it's a fungus issue and light sensitive and what you describe would 'confirm' what he said and acted exactly how it should IF it is my friend thinks it is.
I don't think it's a fungus issue at all. I think that the chem 4 is sensitive to light(hps)...I had several directly under a 1000 watter, and they yellowed a lil, but the ones that weren't directly under the light did just fine. I dunno know why it does that, but o well. It's a great strain, and the yellowing does nothing to effect potency at all...

Yep .... & a great producer too! Chem4 is a little more on the ratty looking side of things when dried yet almost 100% of the people that try it admit it sure does the trick . From first sense of aroma the chem4 experience not as dank a sensation as the D but more earthy and certainly frosted .
The high is very much there though for anyone to tell & almost unanimously agree that C4 is some seriously strong & balanced meds . Never had one person complain & every joint i've passed out invariably gets followed with the question:

Very true...the 3 is better than the 4 tho, I agree as well. Super rare tho. I dont know many that are all too familiar with the 3 but, its like a vibrant green/diesely version of the 4..kinda crazy...but dank, lol

Nothing to report at the moment. I have some Chem D x SFV OG Kush about 2.5 weeks into flower right now. All are on track to be very, very impressive... as you might imagine. Those'll be photo-worthy in a few weeks. There is also some SFV in early flower right now... flowering alongside the Chem D x SFV... a nice comparison grow going. Should be fun.
