Out of State Med Patient Headed to CA for a couple of weeks... A Question!

Hi folks,

I have a question for everyone who might be in the know.

I am an east coast state med patient.

I'm planning to go to California at some point in the near future. Maybe for a few days, or maybe for a couple of weeks.

My question is... How does California handle out of state med patients? Can I walk into a dispensary with my state issued med card and purchase meds, and maybe even a clone or two to take home :)?

Do I have to get a special "recommendation" from a local doctor?

Or am I out of luck entirely?

I don't think this counts as spam so......

I would Google California Medical Marijuana and you should find a state site with a list of State government offices that can assist you with a real answer to this question.

I wasn't able to get anywhere with google searches and looking on the various government sites for MMJ in CA... No one seems to have the answer.

Anyway, I can't be the first med patient to go to California from another state for a visit. Hopefully, someone on this site has some insight.

California only recognizes recommendations from doctors licensed in California. You may however find a dispensary that may not care about it (they would be breaking the law) or find an individual who is compassionate to your situation.

Also, traveling with and marijuana or clones across state lines is definitely against, even if the states have medical marijuana laws.

Out of curiosity, where are you headed in California?

If you aren't a legal california patient, the law sees you as a criminal engaging in trafficking.

One day all states will have reciprocity. Til then......

But that prolly won't happen...you definitely need to have a Cali Rec in order to legally go into a Dispensary-- You may be able to find one that will let you...and I wish you the best of luck on that...really!!
But if not...there are still a lot of ppl selling quality herb out there--
