JUICY's Recirculating Madness

Nice setup. Im gonna be using the dutchy gold as well in my under current. I already tried a 1/4 run and had some issues with root rot or slime Im not sure where it came from I had used aqushield and hygrozyme in the mix. It was kinda wierd because I vegged em in a shallow recirculating setup with no issues with out the hygrozyme once I popped em in the big rig with the hygrozyme after 3 days they started to get icky roots. You dont have any issues with the aquashield and hygrozyme? Just curious because Im about to rerun the setup and Im xing out the shield and the zyme.
1 tbsp (15ml) per gal of 3% hydrogen peroxide... add @ least 1 time per week to recirc res... should oxidize all unwanted life...

can also mix solution in spray bottle to 5:1-10:1 ratio & spray roots (slime/rot) directly...

do this w/ container plants by weekly spraying drainage holes, squeezing & spraying between container inner-wall & media, & slightly drenching top...
applicable in recirc system by maintaining min h202 concentration...

enjoy your garden!

exactly mistress.

I should have added that I use h2o2. I personally use on algae that forms in my tray. I spray it with hydrogen peroxide and it kills most of it. I remember seeing whiter healthier roots when I add it to the reservoir, but I don't think its necessary to do so once a week, maybe once every two-three.

h202 does have a life cycle...
http://www.chemheritage.org/EducationalServices/faces/env/activity/catalysi.htm:
Hydrogen peroxide H2O2, that you may use to clean your contact lenses or to sterilize cuts, decomposes to water and to molecular oxygen. The bottle of hydrogen peroxide can remain in your medicine cabinet for weeks without losing any of its strength, but addition of small amounts of a catalyst will cause it to decompose quickly.

catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide

This is similar to the way chlorine atoms act as catalysts to break down ozone. Since it is hard to study the reaction that break down ozone using the kind of equipment found in most high school laboratories, we're going to learn a little more about catalysis by taking a look at the use of catalysts to break down hydrogen peroxide.
& many of the ingredients in nutrients & the organic matter in the root-zone, can rapidly catalyze & decompose (split h202 into hydrogen & oxygen...), thus oxidizing what gardeners dont want in their root zone... temps also affect rates of decomposition...

dont know if h202 will survive for 2-3 weeks in a solution, or root-zone full of catalysts & reactants & organic matter to oxidize... if that is a safe rate of application, good!

Thanks to the both of you. I think once I reset my grow Im gonna just use base nutes with the zone to keep everything clean. I do use a chiller so I shouldnt be seeing these issues but they only came after adding the zyme to the mix. Oh well Im going clean and sterile for sure.

I just feel that unless you have real issues that is all it will take to keep things fresh and clean.

For instance BigGreen- I would add some h2o2, weekly till your problem subsides then use only every 2nd or 3rd week.

yea those are great articles mistress

threw some floro's in the flower tent to add some different spectrums to this grow. I'm hoping to see a difference in bud structure and hopefully an increase in trichome production.

also when I want to take snazzy pics now all I have to do is turn off the hps and I have awesome, camera-friendy lighting. yay

so the ladies are absolutly loving the floro's. all the side growth perked up a bunch and everything is starting to flower. no stretch yet and one of my plants is an alpha diesel which can stretch 3x in flower although it hasn't hardly grown since being flipped.

not specifically but everything is growing so damn fast now. Not sure what to attribute it to other than there were no bumps in the road this time around

day 15 update.
Everything is running along perfectly. No bumps whatsoever. Plants are eating water and nutes at a consistent rate. currently at 1750 ppm. I will not let it go any higher than this.

As is the case with this strain there was very little stretch. The plants are now starting to really develop mass bud sites. Trichomes began appearing yesterday.

Here are the pics. Enjoy

shiva berry

alpha diesel

thats it!!! yay

I'm shooting for 2+ lbs this run and I think I'm going to get it. I'm so amped that everything is running so smoothly and that my ladies are so healthy. I have been striving for perfection for over a year and I have accomplished what I set out for, Perfect plants!
