Police Brutality

So I am sitting here getting up to date with news in CA and I stumble upon this:

http://www3.signonsandiego.com/stor...beating-video-102509/?california&zIndex=18871

Now I know the whole story is not put into one article but the simple fact that they believe the officer struck the student AFTER being handcuffed infuriates me. I have been cuffed and thrown in the back of a squad car and that was one of the scariest feelings in the world I can think of, then to be struck by a peace officer after being subdued.. this is just plain WRONG!

What makes me sad is that it seems like in the last few years there has been a lot more of this crap happening. The theory of police protection is not this.

My buddy got robbed and beat up by the police last month. They ran the 'smell marijuana' search of him and his car, and only found a lil cash. They called dogs, more cops whatever and didn't find anything. Then out of the blue, some cop 'FINDS' 10 bags of dope wrapped up on the ground. My boy starts yelling that it's a plant, not his, etc (by this time there was a crowd watching the search), and the cop hit him so hard that he busted blood vessels on both sides of his iris.

Dood has a family connect in the IA office for the SAME department, and the IA cop told him that he was full of shit, and the cop hit him because he was resisting arrest.

It was ALL BULLSHIT. There was no weed (for the search), my boy has nothing to do with dope, and he had receipts for his $$$ (less than 3g's).

Protect and serve - yeah, right.

cork144 get him to sue them if he had nothing illegal.

Doesn't work like that. The charges came with a 100k bail, and a possible 3 years. Best case on a guilty by trial would be a 364 (county only). AND a dope conviction. Add in the 15 page fabricated police report with un-named C.I.'s claiming they SAW my boy flagging cars and serving them, etc... , and it becomes REAL appealing to take the plea of probation or fines or whatever. To take the plea, you have to SWEAR that you are guilty of the crime that you are pleading down to. Once that happens, it is next to impossible to appeal, or to win a civil lawsuit.

It's a machine designed to chew up and spit out people in 'lower' socioeconomic classes. If my boy had 15k expendable to get a lawyer for the criminal charges (assuming that the judges/rest of the system are not as corrupt as the PD), and assuming he won (dismissal/not guilty), THEN he would have an opportunity to drop another 10k+ on a lawsuit.

If you are a person that HAS 20k expendable, this does not happen to you. It happens to the people that the police believe will not be able to afford to do anything about it.

lol, ask yourself, do you think the role of LEO is to "protect and serve"? or rather "incriminate and harass"

the role of police has changed dramatically from what its INTENTIONS were.

DOPE. Heroin. CHARGES. Why would the cop find some weed/coke when it's a county bid? Why would he find more than 9 bags, when 9 is a possession/county charge?

The cops are like salespeople. Hit em high, then scrape them off the ceiling.
