You guys are going to love the contents. For starters, 4 or more persons constitute a collective that must register and comply with the ordinance.

This ordinance looks like something Blue Dot would write.

Only five pounds on hand for a med store - what a joke. That means the store will need a separate facility to store and sort their inventory. This provision is stupid and only meant to make life difficult for the store operator.

And all the access they want to members' private records, wow, these are medical records, after all. Why should the city have access to records of how much mmj I use?

No edibles, no concentrates... what's with that. WTF does this lady have against edibles? This ordinance seems to want to take what are, in many cases, good medicine stores with a variety of concoctions to suit the patient's needs, and change them into just pot shops where all you can buy is bud. What's the sense in that? I could see adopting some standards, just like with any natural pharmacopoeia, but banning everything but bud seems like a real disservice to the sick people who ingest mmj in different ways.

It'll be interesting to see how much of the bullshit survives the public hearing, but y'all in LA have got your work cut out for you. I wonder if there is any other business that the city tries to micro-manage down to the point of inventory control.

That's too funny, we all know Blue Dot. But, for real, I understand his perspective. IMO, he does not like to see people skirting the law for self-gain off the sick. And, yes, I see the other sides perspective too, so there is no need to start a barage of comments towards me. As I said before, it is one hell of a pickle.

That's just it, they do not want stores. They want it conformed strictly by the law; that is what lawyers do.

They are overstepping HIPPA laws here.

I agree.

It's because they don't consider it a business, nor is it supposed to be by our two laws for MMJ.

Yes, interesting times ahead. The close downs are coming IMO.

I thought it was records of how much the vendors provide?

Not exactly a "medical record" IMO.

What I want to know is what is cooley going to do if this ordinance doesnt pass.

I have a feeling that its very likely going to pass.

Its going to pass with probably a few changes. The council and city attorney were waiting for more clear case law -- they have it now since the opinion of Hochanadel last month. Why do you think they got to movin all of a sudden after nearly three years. To prevent even more lawsuits then they will face now. But, they have current law on their side. That is how the court system works, like it or not. I have my idealistic opinions too, for those who can't resist, so let's not turn this into a battle of ideals.

This should be about what is most probable to happen and the best course of action to work with it!!!

I read through it too fast, and you are probably right here. It's quite intrusive though. But, this comes from the 500-1000 dispensaries boom that just blew it for everyone and they don't want it happening again, whether legally right or wrong. These parts are going to be up for discussion by the opposing. I think the council could give two shits now.
