you must not be familiar with events like "reggae rising" aka reggae on the river.
its like a free for all, any drug you can imagine is being done there in copious amounts. usually one or two people DIE a year from OD or drug related accidents. this event has been going on for years and the law hasnt done anything to stop it! its a come one come all type event too. sheer lawlessness.

i dont think there would be any problems with a growers comp, however it was arranged.
ill be there!

hehe... don't forget that a lot of stoners have plans on 4/20... i think you'd get a different cross section of the members for sure; there are quite a few icmag members over here on the left coast... fwiw i hope it'd be by invitation only, ie icmag members only

Thats the way to go.
I'm in LA and there are events like that all the time here.

I think it's a sweet that it could be in Cali! kinda bummed because cali doesn't respect other states medical licenses so if I ended up being enabled to attend, I would have to have a cali card. Is this correct?

i think it would work if it was a private invite only thing and didn't try to jump on any medical bandwagon... in a friendly county and not hyped too much... be in and out before anyone knows whats up; popo comes the med cats hold all the herb and don't know nothing bout nothing... ya'll never been to harvest fest in arcata? as long as you don't get your panties in a bunch these things can go down no problem; think about renting some ski lodges in the mountains in april, no snow, no people... know a lot a people who rent em for college buddy reunions etc; all sorts of reasons... this doesn't have to be an expo trade show; its a chance for all the members to meet each other and smoke each others herbs which is something, personally, i'd love to do despite my mad antisocial tendencies

I am trying my hardest to get to an IC cup this coming april or next but if I cant find some decent smoke within a day or so of landing I wont be going.......if it is in a medical only state I think it would make a few people think twice, at least currently as far as I am aware I can still purchase bud in A'Dam. Also I would rather try to bring my hash/bud into europe than the states. Spain or italy would be nice but i'm no expert in the laws.

you're not wrong... entering anything by post from outside the US will also be pretty much impossible especially FROM Amsterdam..having said that, I guess thats what our US friends face every year


the main issue I see for those outside the US is it will be difficult to enter if this is to be the only event. Of course the other issue that arises if this were to be a "complimentary" event, is that judging would be difficult with both events not receiving the same entries - and even if that could be arranged, it would still leave something of an ordeal in trying to work out vote percantages rather than just adding them up (ie if US event had 200 judges and Eu had 50 then anything with more than 50 votes in US beats a unanimous EU vote etc)

Yes it does pose a bit of an administrative conundrum......

Since we have always had the 4/20 Growers and Breeders Cup in Amsterdam and over the years we have many regular attendees at that location, some of whom enter yearly.....and look forward to the yearly even there...

Also I am not so sure about how it would work out with my personal security, doing what I do and have been doing for the past decade, knowing that recently a certain Canadian high profile canna-person was charged and is due to be handed over to the powers that be in Babylon to face five years incarceration within the same country that I am thinking about holding the 4/20 within.......I could be walking into a similar situation myself when you consider the above....

might as well have it in amsterdam this year while canna tourists are still tolerated; just make sure everyone in attendance is a member of whatever private club its at, if they're like that by april... you should just come out for a little informal get together at a large festival in northern california during the off season; i'm sure i speak for most growers when i say that we'd love to have you.

Gypsy...do this and I am there. Actually, I was planning to go regardless where it was...but think of it as the Olympics, ya know....every place gets a shot!

California would be awesome! BC would probably work too, although, the huge influx in visitor would not go unnoticed.

Spain...probably the SAFEST bet for everyone involved. NO ONE wants a security risk for the man running the program.
