Thinking of renting an apartment out to grow in... I know the landlord does not come in without a few days notice and they barely ever come in at all... Besides people needing to come into the apartment think all any and all potential problems with an apartment grow

Smell, electricity, and heat will not be a problem

Acts of god can happen. Just be aware that if a pipe breaks, if there is a fire, or anything like that, even if it is in someone else apartment, they can knock on your door, and then they are going to come in. It has happened at my apartment before. Fire department came in just because the smoke detectors went off in the hallway. They had to do a walk through of each apartment.

I'm not saying it's not possible because I have had small grows in apartments before, but there are risks. I guess you could say the same about anywhere you grow though.

Good luck

I know it is done, but I just think you are asking for problems growing in an apt. Way too many potential security problems.

If you have a fire sprinkler system in your apartment be aware that they are inspected annually in many states. Find out when the last inspection was done so you don't wind up having people in every room and closet in your apt a month into flowering.

Like the other posters said, if there is a serious problem in an adjacent apt, you're in for weirdness. Typically, an apt building will have all the plumbing stacked vertically, meaning all apts are mirror images. This is to your advantage. If the closet you're growing in is not near the bathrooms/kitchens, there's almost no way a plumbing leak in your apt or another will lead them to the grow. Just keep the grow isolated from the rest of the place. That'll help, at least...
I wouldn't go above a single 1k bulb in a smallish apt.
Remember, pumps, ballasts (except digitals), falling water splashes (give-away!!!), room construction, fans all make noise. The noises are what will give you away in this scenario.
Another toughie in apts is ventilation. Assuming you want to vent away from the grow area so air is not recycled, you'll have a hard time unless you are on the top floor and can remove a fixture and vent into attic. But this opens you up security wise if there is a maintenance person in the attic.

Best advice I have:
When lease runs out, get a house.
If you can avoid it, don't grow weed in the apt. Grow some tomatoes and build your growing skillset!

Peace

Two men were charged Friday in an armed robbery that triggered a police manhunt in an apartment complex Tuesday that turned up an indoor marijuana-growing operation.

Shavonte Thompson, 17, entered a man's apartment at 408 Quincy St. on Oct. 29, showed a handgun in his waistband and demanded money, according to the complaint filed in La Crosse County Circuit Court. He left with $300 and marijuana, the complaint stated.

Briante Banks, 17, and Randy Tyler, 24, were present during the robbery, according to the complaint.

Thompson denied using a handgun and robbing the victim. Tyler said he went to the man's apartment to buy marijuana and did not know a robbery would occur, according to the complaint.

An arrest warrant is expected to be issued for Bank after he failed to show up for a meeting with investigators Tuesday.

Officers Tuesday evening searched an apartment complex at 518 Quincy St. after learning Tyler, 24, might be in apartment No. 16 with his girlfriend.

Tyler carved a hole in a bedroom closet ceiling with a sword to escape into the attic, leaving two children, ages 3 and 4, alone inside the apartment, the complaint stated.

Police then stumbled on the small marijuana-growing operation in apartment No. 15 while trying to alert other residents about Tyler, who they feared would escape through another unit.

Felony drug charges were filed Wednesday against apartment tenant Robert Burke, 28.

The Onalaska police canine later tracked Tyler down in the attic, the complaint stated.

Tyler, of Milwaukee, and Thompson, of 914 S. Fifth Ave., each were charged with party to the crime of burglary and armed robbery with threat of force. Tyler also was charged with criminal damage to property and child neglect, both as a repeat offender.

They are jailed on cash bonds and return to court Friday for preliminary hearings.

^^^That's just an isolated incident. I know several people that have done up to 3600 watts in a two bedroom. You just gotta have common sense, and you won't get caught up. Bottom line!! The guy in this story above is an idiot, because he was selling out of his own house..Common sense will keep you cool...Good luck
