yo YUKON

I drink more herbal tea (mostly home grown from the garden) than PG Tips type tea.

Lemon balm tea is nice in the morning and black-mint tea in the afternoon (both good for digestion). Rather than caffeine I add a Sarsaparilla tea bag to the brew (if I n I need a pick-me-up). Also sometimes drink Rosemary tea,, Sweet Basil and Black Pepper tea,, and clove and honey tea.

For flu / colds: Lemon, Honey, Basil and Black Pepper Tea

Edit Tip: never add BOILING water to tea,,, it can damage/taint/destroy the herbal properties (oils) of the infusion and/or release unwanted tannins into the liquid. Allow the water to boil first, then poor over once "off-the-boil".

Hope this helps :D

Wow, I am not alone.

Tricky, I drink Plenty of Liptons and Canned teas. No shame in that. If I am not home I will always get a can.

I think that Arizona tea is a very good sweet tea, and they are known for being inexpensive.

When I go to lunch I almost always have Sweat Tea. I am in the south and it is very common here.

I thought after I posted this that nobody would answer. I have an Xbox and I played a came called Mercenaries 2 and when I come back I have comments.

I drink many cups of tea a day, and many times several glasses of iced and flavored iced teas. I really cut down on the beer and wine drinking and I had to come up with a replacement. I have always liked tea, but I am drinking an incredible amount now that I am not boozing every day.

Stash is my favorite. I have tried a lot of brands, and that is the one I always go back to. The Morrocan Mint is not a really minty tea. I generally don't like powerfully minty teas. In fact, as far as mints go, the only one I drink is the Moroccan.

Stash makes another tea that I highly recomend. The fusion green and white tea is absolutely fantastic. It is my regular tea now, as in the one I drink for a pick up. I will mix a sugar in it called Sugar in the Raw, which is a large crystal, less refined sugar. It adds a small molasses taste to it. Other times I will drink it without sugar. I go about 50:50 on sweatened or not. It has a very fresh tea taste to it. You can really taste tea. The white teas are less bold in some ways, but very flavorful. Stash makes several kinds of tea, so you have to be really specific if you buy any. I have messed up. The tea is stated as fusion green and white.

I do not care for Eary Grey tea at all.

Because I am not in the west coast I generally have to order Stash Tea online. I will find it in some stores around here, but even more rare is their having the two that I consider my mainstay.

That canned sweet tea is like smoking mexican brick. Yuck Yuck Pooy Pooy!

SHAME ON YOU!

Anyone have recommendations for a strong 'morning' tea, something to wake me up? I would like to replace black coffee because it is not good on my stomach.
A decent 'Gunpowder green tea' will give you the lift you need first thing, green tea has an acquired taste to say the least and can be quite bitter, you can sweeten with honey, sugar etc, many people also flavour the green tea with a good sprig of mint

Peppermint has definite stimulating qualities. If one is used to caffeine, it may not be as noticeable.

Some winners: Hibiscus tea is a strong antioxidant. Rooibos as well. Pau d'Arco and Siberian Ginseng are all around tonics. St John;s Wort a natural antidepressant. Chamomile = great for mild relaxation, and stomach issues. Gingko helps the brain function best. Spearmint for flavour. All the above plus a couple more go in my morning tea blend. No need for sugar, or anything.

Three cups and I feel FINE...!!!

Later in the day, straight Peppermint as a wake up. And I like Sleepytime Tea from a box for taste at night.

I do not do Caffeine. Gave it up years ago. Peeps say that I do not need it. lol

sackoweed: if you want to sleep, try Valerian Root raw, in a 'tea egg.'

A slow drift to sleep. Or a mellow start to a nice day. Any stressors become much easier to deal with. Tastes like old socks, works a lot better.

sorry for the very late answer...
yes it is good, but it is not a drug, so dont count on falling a sleep just like that...
what you need is a "routine".
Every evening before dinner go for a short walk, but walk in a good haste, (or run, bicycle, but the faster, the shorter you have to do it, 1 mile FAST, is better than 5 miles slow). Then when you get home, you eat and when it is time for bed, you make your tea and drink it in bed while relaxing and once you fall asleep it will work its magic...
good routine is "work"(using your fuel/energy), then food(body wants new fuel), and then sleep(body wants to relax to use energy on making new fuel)
It is all about sending your confused body the right signals so it releases the right chemicals at the right time and the herbal tea will help you...routines can be annoying but youll be surprise how fast your brain and body starts in the morning...:abduct:

Yes the tea is the brand "Celestial Seasonings" and it is called "sleepytime"

oh I found a link...:bigeye:

Found this black tea from the brand Stash, called "Super Irish Breakfast Tea", and it really is a great breakfast tea. With some fresh mint and honey it tastes really good, and mixes with green tea very nicely. Wakes me up very nicely without getting the full on jitters like I get from drinking straight black coffee.

Until a couple of days ago, i didnt know i could get tea like this.

Smooth Caramel from Tea Palace, London.

This year I swapped out coffee for mate tea. Yerba mate is common in Argentina and Brazil, where I was introduced to it. Much nicer to the body than coffee.

Doesn't taste like much, but I also add a healthy dose of dried Hibiscus flowers to each batch. Great tart taste, but the reason for the Hibiscus is blood pressure control. Drops my blood pressure an astonishing amount, as long as I drink enough of it. I didn't believe it till I tried it.

Tea exchange would be a great idea here. Everyone interested would sign up and it's randomly paired then you send away your fav. teas to that person. Great way to find new brews!

I've been part of cigar passes before, where people would sign up and the first person would buy a few of their favorite stogies, mail them to the next person who could take whatever he/she wanted to try, throw in their favorites (as well as misc related stuff...matches, cutters, lighters, etc.), and then off it goes to the next person and so on and so on. Anyone could take ALL of the cigars, or none, or whatever... it was cool.
My only guess would be that it would NOT work on a forum like this because I doubt a bunch of growers want their names/addresses posted up on a growing forum....
Which leads me to this question... are there any "tea forums"? cause that would be a viable option on a tea forum!

quality tea is made from the whole top tips of the plant and are hand picked....packaged, flavored or tea bag tea is usually always mass produced second level crap

Quality tea tastes exquisite, one way to check out the quality (apart from brewing and tasting that is ) is to check out the leaves after brewing...this is easy to tell, pick out the tea leaves, then spread then out flat. Quality tea will consist of three leaves attached to a stem..if you see bits of cut leaves, or other evidence of cutting then this definitely is a sign of lower quality tea. The best teas are never machine cut, flavored or bagged nor would you ruin the flavor by adding milk or sugar.

if you aren't drinking whole, handpicked tips then you are drinking the equivalent of shwaggy, commercial bud.

Anyone know of a slightly higher quality tea that tastes similar esque to a general southern style 'lipton' unsweet tea with maybe two tea bags per cup of water. i know yall southern folks know what im talking about.

im looking for that classic southern 'tea' taste, not sweet tea, unsweet tea.. but does this have a certain 'flavor'? is there a higher quality version, with a similar taste?

or am i just being an idiot and continue to enjoy lipton?

thanks!
