Pleasure to know and share my life with you too, Socal! Thanks so much T! Tons, I mean Tons of daimoku this weekend did the trick to heal the sick! I'm feeling better and going strong :)

I'm feeling 85% better today! I read a great news report on Drudge earlier at work, yes I'm all caught up and doing well again at work, regarding Barry Obeasy's stance on Medical Mary Jane in those states that have pass pro-med marijuana legislation. This is a great step-forward for the site and it's constituents in the USA. Although the Los Angeles Ball-Busting DA is threatening to shut-down all for profit dispensaries, I did not see a mention that he would go after non-profits, in the North this is huge. Last year we chanted for Babba's safety and survival attributed to malign government entities trying to hurt my friends and those in need and COMPASSION HAS PREVAILED! It is always an uphill battle when the mission is just and true towards the greater benefit of mankind, but I consider today to be a great win for the medical marijuana community.

A win for the Med. Marijuana Community is also a win for the chanting growers, we grow therefore we chant and we chant therefore we grow! I know deep in my heart, that the best is yet to come, I sound like a broken record but it is the truth.

I chanted quite a bit yesterday, more than I have in a while despite my boss' mother passing away I had a great day. My girl who also chanted with me for over an hour just told me "today felt like a Friday, it was great!". So, I have a person I don't get along with at work, and today it was as if we were great friends.

The formula to my success is daimoku, My AWESOME AMAZING GOHONZON, and the REAL CHANTING GROWERS. Chanting Growers, ATTTTENTION! :SALUTE:

We are a dynamite group of Bodhisattvas and I welcome all Chanting Growers to my life. Keep posting away and enjoy this great thread and great site. Big E-hugs for all my friends.

The world is now in the midst of a dire economic crisis and faced with countless daunting challenges. But the deeper the darkness looming over society, the brighter and stronger shines the supreme philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism.

As the Daishonin states: "Great evil portends the arrival of great good. If all of Jambudvipa [the entire world] were to be thrown into chaos, there could be no doubt that [this sutra would] 'be widely propagated throughout Jambudvipa' " (The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol. 1, p. 1122).

Does Nichiren Buddhism work for everyone? It's about Daimoku!

Does Nichiren Buddhism work for everyone? It's about Daimoku!

Nichiren Buddhism teaches that the potential for Buddhahood exists in all people without exception. All people also possess the potential for delusion, specifically the delusion that they are incapable of attaining the indestructible happiness that comes with enlightenment. The practice of Buddhism is the means by which to discard delusion and reveal the Buddhahood within.

Awakening the Buddhahood in all people, not merely a select group, is the solemn vow of a Buddha. The Lotus Sutra articulates this vow in a passage we recite morning and evening as part of our Nichiren Buddhist practice, “At all times I think to myself:/ How can I cause living beings/ to gain entry into the unsurpassed way/ and quickly acquire the body of a Buddha?” (The Lotus Sutra, p. 232).

Because Buddhism is based on profound universal compassion, adopting its principles will result in benefit for all, regardless of whether they are actually Buddhist practitioners. The greatest fortune, however, derives from real dedication to the three fundamentals, or pillars, of our teaching: faith, practice and study.

When I hear faith, practice and study I think Nichiren left special instructions for beginners in faith to just chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo! That works for me and will also work for you or anyone reading this. I wouldn't be writing about this for a few years if this was another imperfect truth. You can mathematically prove this Buddhism too, this is a truly infinite constant, creating an infinitely pleasant variable; to substitute as the basis of life. I'm talking about Nam-myoho-renge-kyo! inside of you, use it for everything generously!

Greetings Brother & Sister Chanters

I've been in lurking mode which is where I am usually. The Pumpkin Man and the Queen of the Castle are doing very fine, as am I. The tincture has been incredible for PM and QC. I do the vape. My health seems on the mend though there are a few issues that linger on. No real big deal. Blood work next month will be met with keen interest.

I got some BOG Bogglegum and am waiting for SourBubble. Then on to a bigger lamp and tent.

My friend Lonnie has been recently diagnosed with ALS, a death sentence. So between now and then I'll provide his meds. I have been introducing the Daishonin's teachings to him. He even has a few books by Sensi. But he still is not interested in chanting.

Karma can be like concrete. We have to steadily wack at it or be overcome by it. A mighty oak can be brought down by a butter knife(just not overnight). So perserving with resolute determination is the key for me to stand up and keepin pushing forward. <me giving me guidance>

The Romulan I grew out is kick ass. Thanks for the beans Andy!!! More coming at you.

I do come and lurk here often. But many times I don't feel like posting. Almost a year and have under 50 posts. Sometimes I feel talked out. I did so much political jaw jagging I can use my mouth as a dustpan. Three runs for congress in three consecutive elections is 5-6 years of continous camp pain ing.

I really apprecciate your struggles and victories. Keep keepin on. May our last steps be forward and our last breaths be for peace, joy and justice.

And thanks for checking in on us.
cheers!

Though the moon is forty thousand yojanas high in the heavens, its reflection
appears instantly in a pond on earth; and the sound of the drum at the Gate of
Thunder is immediately heard a thousand, ten thousand ri in the distance. Though
you remain in Sado, your heart has come to this province.

No matter what happens, please continue to chant daimoku -- in both good times
and bad, irrespective of joys or sorrows, happiness or suffering. Then you will
be able to seize victory in your daily life and in society.

I still chant everyday and yesterday Mrs. BOG and I were dancing and chanting around my new Lifesaver seeds almost done. We have chanted daily for the strengthening of our great protector, the sun. I ask for "Sol" blessings that my seeds give relief and that they make it to the people who most need and share these blessings.

All rivers lead to the same deepest place in the ocean and if there is one force that connects all living things it is love. I believe in a love wave that is congruent to the wave of life that must permeat our entire universe. After all the highest laws aren't just for around here but most hold everywhere. Who wrote the higher law?

Good question huh? Love to you all... Nam Myoho Renge Kyo said once like you mean it.

In the eighth volume of Great Concentration and Insight and in the eighth volume
of the Annotations on "Great Concentration and Insight" it says, "The stronger
one's faith, the grater the protection of the gods." This means that the
protection of the gods depends on the strength of one's faith. The Lotus Sutra
is a fine sword, but its might depends on the one who wields it.

I hope that each of you will study broadly and develop your understanding of
life, society and the universe, based on your faith in Nichiren Daishonin's
Buddhism. This type of learning enables you to cultivate a rich state of life,
or inner world, drawing forth profound wisdom and limitless leadership ability
from the depths of your life.

Wilson! and BOG on the same page!~ How cool is that? Thanks to both of you for checking in.

Wilson, please keep us appraised of the results of those tests and I am sure everyone here will be chanting for them to be what you want them to be. I know exactly what you mean by "me giving guidance to myself"! Ha! That is what I am actually doing here with almost every post and PM.

BOG my Brother! Please give MrsBOG a huge hug for me! Let's all keep chanting together day by day until the last moment of our lives! We've done it before, and the result is us all being together now. As we do it again, we assure ourselves of never being separated from one another. That is VERY comforting to me!

Thanks again for letting us hear from BOTH of you!!!!

Much love and deep respect,

Thomas

It's through making the effort to have "one-on-one" dialogues that we can experience the joy and fulfilment of conversation. Let's have the type of conversations that awaken the Buddha nature in people and creates a real desire for justice and the truth among those around us!

Basic Practice

erica_hand.jpg

Members of the SGI practice the Buddhism taught by the thirteenth-century Japanese monk Nichiren. At the core of Nichiren's Buddhism are the phrase Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and a mandala referred to as the Gohonzon.
There are three basic elements to the practice of Nichiren Buddhism: chanting the phrase Nam-myoho-renge-kyo as a prayer for oneself and others; studying the teachings of Nichiren; and making efforts to share the teachings of Buddhism, to spread the Buddhist perspective of life's inherent dignity and potential. SGI members perform a morning and evening practice known as Gongyo, which consists of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and reciting portions of the Lotus Sutra.

What is the purpose of life? It is happiness. But there are two kinds of happiness: relative and absolute. Relative hapiness comes in a wide variety of forms. The purpose of Buddhism is to attain Buddhahood. In modern terms, this could be explained as realizing absolute happiness – a state of happiness that can never be destroyed or defeated.

The mighty warrior General Li Kuang, whose mother had been devoured by a tiger,
shot an arrow at the stone he believed was the tiger. The arrow penetrated the
stone all the way up to its feathers. But once he realized it was only a stone,
he was unable to pierce it again. Later he came to be known as General Stone
Tiger. This story applies to you. Though enemies lurk in wait for you, your
resolute faith in the Lotus Sutra has forestalled great dangers before they
could begin. Realizing this, you must strengthen your faith more than ever.

The mentality of getting others to do the hard work while one sits back and
takes it easy -- that is bureaucratism at its worst; it is not faith. The spirit
of taking on the hard work oneself -- that is faith, that is humanism.

Funny it's been a few months since I've joined .......but only just found this thread! Tells me there is so much more to find ......yeah!

I like to chant in the shower with water running down the back of my neck. The vibration transfers into the water and earth ...... Visualizations become vivid, clarity seems more precise and when finished, the calm energy becomes pervasive.

When I tell people this ..........most look at me funny LOL but aha, you can't see me!
