Benefits of taking smoking breaks

i havent smoked any(except last night at a concert in the mosh pit)since august, it hasnt been that hard since ive been relatively poor all this time. Can't just waltz out and pick up a 1/4oz for 50-60, that's a month's FOOD!

it has been a nice head clearer. Im still forgetful - darn.

i realise now i am not addicted to marijuana. In particular i know ive been smoking straight every day for 2 years now, approximately, and ive stopped cold turkey. I only feel restless at night as i do not have my knock out drug, and my backpain comes back more frequently. Other than those symptoms, im able to function damn close to 100%. SO EAT THAT anti drug czars.

if only cigarettes were that easy...or alcohol. tis why i am an advocate for discipline months, weeks etc, insert time frame here. show yourself you can do something, and that positive thinking is amazing; even positive thinking in general.

50-60 $ for a months food ? dude.. LOL
ramen noodles bonanza ?

its good once in a while to clear your head and not feel "dependent" on it.

that's one thing with me

I remember one time I noticed, that I would be sort of chasing after another hit

and it never got me satisfied, but it could be also because the herb I was smoking wasn't satisfying

that's one thing that led me to the break

filling the void with alcohol ain't a good solution

I'm on a break right now. It sucks. It's only been a few days and I CANNOT SLEEP. I drank the other night, i woke up feeling like shit, couldn't do my work or even carry on a thought.

Melatonin does jack, im taking that and valerian root....no help at all. I can breathe sweet and all but man, I've been pretty miserable the last few days. I might cave.

I have to be high EveryDay or Else i cant Deal with the Idiots of the World, I would Go Ballistic and Club someones head in or worse Stab them to death 100 times. Weed is my Calming Medication, Without it i dont leave the house for fear i will Lose it :p My mind that is Not the house LOL

I am sure i aint the only one that feels that way :p

You shouldnt be proud.

Anyway, what are some benefits? Well from my experience, when i was smoking almost daily, i'd have a random but consistent cough throughout the day. After taking a break (fooling myself into getting clean for a job), that cough cleared up. No longer was i spittin up phelgm w/ black spots. Altogether my respiratory system felt pretty clean; it wasnt an expansive, semi-weezy sort of thing anymore, but more like a clean and smooth air pump.

On that tip about paranoia, taking a break does relieve stress in that area. Months went by where i didnt give a shit about seeing a cop, or hearing sirens in the distance. It also cleared the stress i had from smoking. Sometimes when im on the weed, i feel sort of guilty about my screwups, because i wonder how much better i would be if i didnt partake. When I got clean, there is no choice but to lay the screwups all on yourself, and have a good look at reality and yourself.

I guess this may be where the clearness in your perception comes in. Oh yeah, waking up felt a lot easier. When i smoked, I'd wake up with sort of a groggy feeling, im sure most of you can relate. Needless to say that cleared up real quickly... once you start having a normal dream and sleep cycle, you'll wake up straight edged.

^i agree, when i take a "break" i get sick, not because im dependant but because the cb2 receptors in my gi trackt need these cannabinoids to reduce inflamation, it stops my immune system from attacking me and helps with keeping food down, i think its a very individual perogative

When I go away I take breaks but thats about it.. The most is 4-5 days and that makes a huge difference... 3-4 months, wow

Breaks for medical users probably aren't a good idea - same reason we all keep taking our antipsychotic meds even though we feel fine. ;)
