This thread has really slowed down lately. Not even Kimbo fighting on TUF brought anyone around.

That fight made kimbo look like a real bum. Dana was so pissed you could tell. Man he knows he is going to make big $$$ of the back of kimbo so he hypes bad.
Kimbo is keen for more though. He has the heart but i dont think he has the time. I recon he needs at least 5 years jujitsu training before he has much chance. Even if he connects with a good shot, these arnt street fight and guys arnt going to just drop.

Dana is blinded by the $$$ signs in his eyes and is pushing kimbo too fast. Kimbo is $$$ in the bank but looks like Dana blew it too fast :noway:

So the newest news is that Rampage isn't gonna fight Evans, he's gonna drop MMA because he's going into acting (playing BA Baracus in the remake movie of the "A Team"). Sounded pissed at Dana, like Dana was telling him what to say or something.

Yeah i watched Dana voice off on Jim Rome today, I really wanted to see Rampage cave his face in. It was hard watching the Iceman fall to Rashad, and Kimbo layin down to big country. But we still have Machida and Shogun to look forward to. Looks like we're still gonna have to wait for that big Fedor vs. Lesnar ticket.

Man, I'm hopin' that Kimbo gets another shot. I can't stand that Big Country, hes a fat p***y who laid on top of him, and dropped rabbit punches like a chick hits, the worst part is he planned the whole thing, watch the show and listen to the stuff Nelson says to others before the fight. Besides the fact he's a cocky prick, just makes it hard to respect someone like that, with such a cowardly game plan. He was getting rocked, if Kimbo just would've kept nailing him with his right instead of throwing that knee, it would have been lights out for fat country! :bat:

I doubt ANYONE could do much of anything with that much weight on top of them, lol.

Man, WTF was wrong with that big dude on the last episode? He started sweating like a whore in church! :yoinks:

Kimbo vs country was pathetic. That shit had me pissed. I like Kimbo, and I like his style. Hes a really likeable dude. I hope he makes it into the UFC, even if its just a cash ploy for White. Hes gonna need a lot of skills training. Ive been watching UFC for years now, but just now starting to get into the fighters what goes on behind the scenes. Is it true that Rampage isnt gonna fight Rashad? If the rumors are true, im gonna call a bitch out on Rampage. All the shit he talks, and he's gonna back out now? Cant wait to see the Lyoto vs Shogun Fight.

Rashad will be fighting Thiago Silva at 108 for their new years show headlined by Anderson -vs- Vitor. Quinton definitely fucked up by pulling out. They hadn't signed contracts for the fight yet but it was a verbal agreement that that fight would take place after the show and he pulled out after all the time and money the UFC has put towards the fight. And he should be the last person to do something like that to the company he works for after all the bullshit they've already put up with from him.

I'm not always able to catch overseas shows live (Dream, Sengoku, Pancrase, Shooto) but I try to catch them as soon as I can.

Aoki's armbar with less than 5 seconds left was slick. He has incredibly quick attacks and transitions and he can finish you in the blink of an eye. I was surprised the two upkicks from Hansen after he booted Aoki in his dick didn't have more of an effect on him. Aoki has been suspect at taking punishment before and it would have been brutal if the fight was ended premature because of it.

Kawajiri -vs- Aoki is supposed to be happening next, which would be a tremendous fight and the best lightweight title bout Dream could stage. As always Aoki is still teasing about his aspirations to fight in the UFC where finally the top two lightweights in the world could battle but who knows when / if it'll ever happen. In the meantime I'd love to see him fight Kawajiri.

Fernandes put on an impressive performance in winning the grand prix. Joe Warren really pissed him off before the fight and he put him away very quick for it. Fernandes was the favourite to win the tournament but I really thought Joe Warren would shock the world again. The fact that he finished Chase Beebe and won a close fight against former pound for pound king Norifumi Yamamoto was enough to convince me he would win it all but he never even had a chance against Bibiano. The finals against Takaya was very close, and Fernandes was getting tagged bad for the last thirty seconds of the fight until the bell rang, but I can't argue with the decision. It ended in a split decision that could have went either way. I'm sure they'll fight again soon because Dream really doesn't have many challengers in that division.

Anyone going to watch WEC 43 tomorrow night?

Going to try. Pissed at my DirecTV for droping Vs. Is there anywhere to watch it online?

Rampage "Hollywood" Jackson  Actually wasn't Dan Henderson's nick name hollywood back in the days? I'm sure he'll be back and the fight will draw many more PPV buys than it would originally.

yeah wtf i have direct tv too. i saw the commercial about there being no VS anymore. I dont know why they did it but that sucks a big one....

I caught it and it was a great event as usual. Mackens Semerziers win over Wagnney Fabiano has definitely been the upset of the year thus far. And that he did it by submission just made it so much more dramatic. One of my favourites Damacio Page got another win under his belt and a fight with Joseph Benavidez would be gold.

It's too bad that not alot of people follow it because every card they put on rivals or beats many UFC cards as far as I'm concerned in terms of entertainment and matchups. And the fact they only house three weight classes and the majority of the top bantamweight and featherweights in the world (I wish they'd just drop the lightweight division) means they can stack their cards. Getting to see 5-8 of the top guys in the world at their respective weight classes on the same card every single event is awesome. Usually this thread gets some action before and after WEC cards but the thread in general has slowed down alot.

Damn I wish I could have saw they WEC fight. You're right nate they always put together some good cards. That's why I got pissed when I found out we didn't get that channel anymore. Anyone know what you have to do if you have direct tv to get VS back? Pay a lot more money for a sports package or something? They should make it like Showtime where you pay like 5 bucks and can buy the channel just to watch the fight... Anyone looking forward the UFC fight next week. I'm Deff looking forward to finally seeing Fedor fight soon.

Yeah I just have been calling and complaining to get vs back I guess thats all we can do. Maybee can try and bother the folks at WEC to get the fights on another channel or maybee even PPV me personally would pay $20 to watch the WEC fights. Hell yeah always looking forward to see Layoto Machida I think he will be at the top for awhile. I would lke to see Fedor in the UFC. His next opponent Brett Rodgers seems like he's one sided like Kimbo great stricker but if it goes to the ground he's probley going to be screwed (well either way with Fedor he is probley screwed)

I enjoy both the WEC and UFC but I think overall the UFC has the better fighters and for the most part the better cards. Course thats just my opinion I am glad that WEC has the elite featherweights

Anyonce catch 104 last night?

Rua was robbed and should be the new champion.

Sonnen's upset over Okami was a shocker (to me anyways).

Cain's performance was beastly again. Ben is no joke and Cain just walked through him.

The UFC and the MMA commisions really need to get some sort of strict training and certification going for judges of the sport. It seems like every event has atleast one questionable decision, often times more in the last year. Alot of these guys are incompetent at their jobs yet they keep getting assigned to high profile fights as one third of the decision maker should it go the distance. In order to do that though they also need to improve the scoring system by defining exactly how fights should be scored. As of now there is too much that the judges can decide by their own definition rather than according to a guideline. (submission offence -vs- defense, lazy and stale top control -vs- active bottom control, takedowns -vs- takedowns defended, etc, etc, etc) How to score any of those situations and many more have no definition in judging so it's left up to personal opinion of the judge and that's a big part of the reason why judging is so inconsistent sometimes too.

Incompetent judges + Muddy, undefined rules = shitty judging

Hopefully this gets addressed in the near future. When the president of the largest MMA company in the world is disagreeing with the judging of main events and championship bouts, it means he needs to use his weight and get something done about the situation.
