Some of the smaller nugs are already dry enough to smoke. The smell is fruity and the taste is awesome. I'll try to describe a little better when the larger buds are dry. ZV is a great strain.
Moses was asking for some Pow Tang pictures earlier on a bit, just got around to getting some pictures. Here are some recent shots of Pow Tangs, a freebie I got from OGA in the spring, got three of these with my three ZV's. Day 35 or so. Easy to grow, very vigorous, thick stalks just like the zombies.
Sorry, about the pictures, still working on getting good at that part! The plants are much frostier than the appear!
Whats the verdict on days until harvest? I was planning on 60, seems the consensus for ZV, any ideas for PT?
Well blokes and gals, here is an update on the Zombie Virus Aussie outdoor grow.
As I said before the gals are starting to show signs of flowering, but 2 weeks of shitty and cold spring weather has slowed growth down, such that I am now unsure if they will flower out for spring, or go back to veg and grow through the summer, with an April finish. Either way does not bother me, as this Zombie grow is in conjunction with an indoor grow.
I have tried to show stems in pics so you can see further evidence of the huge stem girth on these plants. I did have 2 males show and they have been culled, leaving me with 3 girls to finish out.
I hope you enjoy the pics.
PS I must be severely infected with the Zombie Virus as I am showing severe symptoms of lust, passion, impatience, and a lot of heavy breathing. My wife mops my brow each time I come in from looking at the plants, and she is concerned the lust and passion will spill over on to her lol
Left: Large stem pheno, chopped day 69
Middle: early pheno, chopped day 64
Right: 1.5 grams quick wash ISO. Wish I weighed the shake. Probably wasn't more than 7 or 8 grams.
The early pheno is dry and smokes great. Has an earthy taste with a little sandal wood aftertaste. This stuff won't last through a cure, sorry. It got two full weeks of plain water, ash burns white. Perfect joint material. Nice lung expansion w/o uncontrollable coughing from bong hits. I would assume a cure would make the smoothness even better.
The big stem pheno is still drying. Even though it got almost 3 weeks plain water, it's a little greener than the early pheno but just as frosty. A gram and a half of hash is quite a load for the small pile of trim from the (two) ~1 ounce plants.
I just finished weighing the hash. The first hit in a glass pipe tastes lovely. Typical hashy taste I'm used to but a nice long aftertaste as well. This stuff will make ya cough lung chunks so a good long cure will help.
I wouldn't think twice about growing Zombie Virus again. It's easy to grow, doesn't take long, yields well, (very well for the early pheno) and quality is tops. Makes a lotta hash too.
Here is one of my Pow Tangs, frosting up really really nice. This is at day 40 or so. This past few days has really seen some weight put on, the next few weeks should be very exciting. Cant wait to try em out.
Loving the pow tangs, not as fruity smelling as some of the zombies, almost an earthy smell to them. Very frosty, the pictures really do not them justice.
