Hello,
I've Got 1 THE HOG Which Is Foxtailing. 50+ Days Flowering & Not One Real Bud Of Any Kind. Is Their Anything I Can Do?
20 Gal DWC
400 Watt MH
150 Watt HPS
Dyna Gro Bloom
PH-5.5+/-

Thank You
Longhair

how low are your lights? ive heard of heat stress and too much nitrogen in flowering contribute to foxtailing. also i know its strain dependent and most sativas usually exhibit foxtailing traits.

Hello,
150 Watt HPS The Distance Is No Less Than 12 In.. If These Were Real Buds They Would Probably 1.5-2.0 Oz. One More Thing It Has Allot Of 1 Bladed Fan Leaves! Some Easily 12 In..

Thank You
Longhair

ouch.....those one blade leaves lead me to think you have a light leak! either that or your timer failed at some point? i dont kno but one blade leaves is a sign of re-vegging. im sure someone will chime in with better info than me but i would start by looking for an obvious light leak.

ive read this too. heat, nitrogen, genetics, distance of light

longhair, your overpowering of mh over hps might be promoting extra veg (just a guess)

Hello,
Never Had Problems With Lighting, Timers, Distance Of Light. I Made A Mistake Forget About The MH. Since I've Been Using Dyna Gro Bloom 3-12-6 Would The Nitrogen Contribute?
Should I Pull It If It's Still Going To Foxtail? I'll Be Harvesting A White Widow in A Week Or Two, Do Them At The Same Time So I Can Start My Next Run?
I've Got Pics.

Edit
In The 3rd Pic Theres A Blue Dot Can You Tell Me What You Think It Is?

Thank You
Longhair

I am really stoned, but..

I do not see any fox tails at all.

Those fan blades, yeah those are abnormal. The flowers appear okay so keep her going, but something is fucked up.

doesnt look like foxtailing to me but as someone said liike like they are trying to reveg for some reason. have you double checked your timer and that the lights are going off properly??

if you run your ballast straight through the timer without a switcher unit they sometimes burn out and the light stays on. other than that a light leak??

wow definatly not foxtailing... very interesting though. it appears you have some rams horn obviously resulting from the nitrogen in flowering.

so now we have a revegging plant with rams horn and a possible light leak. this also is a reoccuring event (the light) because a day or two with a messed up light schedule wouldnt make a plant turn back this much.

hope you get it fixed whatever it is. keep flowering her out and then if she still looks like shit turn her into cannabutter or bubblehash.

just for comparison - this is foxtailing :)
on a Blueberry, caused by genetics and probably slightly high temps and residual N in late flowering - quite pretty though :D

the original poster shows some pretty burnt leaves. i don't think the 12" is really 12", or there isn't enough ventilation in the growing area

I have happy plants that are 2'' and some time closer to my 150w HPS. I have about 100CFM inside my cab which only exhausts at 80CFM, but that is about 9 exchanges per minute.

Hello,
Why Would I Lie?
Your Pretty Burnt Leaves Are From The Camera Because Of The HPS. Plus I Ran The Pics Thru FotoCanvas So To See The Fox Tails Better.

Well I Didn't Do This I'm Blind. My Best Friend Shel (Shelly) Took The Picks. She Knows Nothing About MJ. Just What She Has Learned Here & What Little I Know.

4x4x6.5 Tent
Tent Temp.: 75-78F
Rez Temp.: 68F
Ventilation: 250CFM
100CFM
1-8" Fans Blowing Across The Plants

Thank You

Longhair, you might need to ask your friend to step inside of your grow room during lights off to see if light is leaking in.

Hello,
I Will. Does It Have To Be Darkroom Dark? Positively No Light?

Thank You
Longhair

For the most part, if there is a spot where light is directly hitting the plants, you will have issues. Also you could try turning the lights off in the room next to your grow room, and see if light leaks out that way.

sup longhair sounds like some good advice your gettin.loos to be trin to reveg totally:( other plants the same? the widow? ide yank th plant with the idow 4sure.wouldnt run that strain agin tho. good luck:)

*take a candle and hold it a foot away from a wall and that amount of light is enough to disrupt the flowering cycle*, (general rule). ive even heard that the light on a power strip is enough to disrupt it as well, dont know if its true.

imo your growroom should be TOTALLY dark in flowering. if you care enough to buy specific genetics and all the speciality equiptment i would take as much care of the space your ladies will be thriving in.

I've had the same problem. Got rid of with new strain. I had one strain that did it all the time, I thought it was the age of the bulb, but same bulb and new better strain and the problem is gone... Go figure...
Didn't have the energy to read the hole thread, so take it in to consideration when reading this post

Hello Samba,
I Appreciate Your Help! I've Come To That Conclusion. I've Got Some Blue Streak Next In Line. The Time Trying To Save Her Is Not Worth Doing. But The Knowledge About Light Leaks Etc. From All You People Will Make All Of My Future Runs Better.
I Want To Thank You All!

God Bless You,
Longhair

P.S. If Anyone Here Uses A Grow Tent? Mine Has 3 Vents On The Back & 2 Sides All At The Bottom. What About Light Leaks? They Have Flaps Should I Tape Them Closed? Also Which Are More Prone Sativa Or Indica?
