Flowering Day 14

Flowering Day 14

Time for an update of my three flowering plants. Contrary to my last post, I didn't actually start flowering till 9/29/09 since I had a mishap with the timer for my light. So tonight is actually Day 14.

Up to now, they've been getting Floranova Bloom at about 950-1000 ppm. Once or twice I've added some silica. Tonight when filling up the res, I added some KoolBloom liquid.

Amstel Light - The screen is made from plastic fencing from the hardware store. I changed my avatar cuz I got bored with it. But Mole always has a place in my heart. I've still got his name!

Hella THC - I read the same thing about chronic so didn't top it. It takes to scrogging and LST just fine though.

On to the new pics!

That is one dense canopy! i like your style Mole. That coco seems to be doing you well. How often is it set to drip? i'm just curious because the growth is really coming along quick. You should be in for a bountiful Thanksgiving. I have a feeling you will be eating a little extra this year :joint:

Do you think that the insulated ducting and insulated hood cover really help with the temps? I have a little temp issue that i need an expensive fan to fix but maybe i will invest in those things also. thanks for the idea..

Beautiful grow. Best of luck.

Oh, they NL x C-99 should be :yoinks:

Nice job!

couple of questions what is the material used for the screen? what happened to your jaded tranny avatar? i used and will be using clay balls in my coco mimics nature a lil bit.

The screen looks like the plastic construction fence barrier you see on job sites.

The grow looks great Mole!

Natagonnaworry - I have the timer set to run twice a day for a minute each time. Yes, I think insulating the ducting and hood help keep the hot air out of the tent.

Mr-B - Thanks for stopping by!

Amstel Light - Nope. I am now the proud owner of a big role of plastic fencing! :violin:

Thanks for the kind words y'all!

Stretching for both the Chronic and DD is not that extreme. I think it's already slowing down. Both are good choices for growing in size restricted spaces.

Update: Flowering Day 21

The stretch continues slowly and they've grown an inch or two since the last update. I've done some major fan leaf trimming to get light to the buds. I'd love to get a second 600 to spread out the light, but that'll have to wait.

Their PPM's are up to 1200 now and they seem to be liking it. In addition to Floranova Bloom, they're also getting some Floralicious Plus and silica.

Only 40 more days or so I can chop!

Hey man! Glad I found this thread again! I actually do have a journal for my Chronic grow. You can find it under the Indoor SOIL section under "1800w CHRONIC grow" or under the Strain/Hybrid section as "SS Chronic"

Yours are looking great!! I cant wait to keep following along. 40 days they've got time to get FAT! And they look well on there way!

peace!

Now with 1000 watts

Now with 1000 watts

Thanks for dropping by mna and bterzz.

I was thinking about ways to maximize my environment and remembered I had a cheapo HTG Supply 400 watt light, so I decided to see how it would affect temps. With a 400 watt CMH bulb, the tent stays a mere 10 degrees warmer than the room. Since we're getting chilly here at night, I can easily keep the apt at 65-70 and the tent 75-80--comfortable for all of us.

So now I have 1000 watts coming from an air-cooled 600 watt HPS and a 400 watt CMH with a batwing reflector.

Here are some pics of the tent with the two lights running. I think the two color spectrums kind of screw with the white balance of the camera, but you can still get a good idea of how bright it is. The tent is now very, very bright! I'm really looking forward to seeing the colas that come from these.

This is day 22.

(Can't rep you again yet--so I have to post, lol.)

Bravo! Beautiful plants. Love PVC Scrogs

Looks like you could spread them out a little more--to even it up a tad bit.

I like the shot taken from the top--the frost is most visible in that shot.

That's efficient.

Been enjoying the show, mole....great work. Thanks.

Thanks for stopping by y'all. Keeping a grow diary is fun!

caljim - Yeah, the nodes on the DD are the tightest I've seen on any strain. Right now both the DD seem like clones. Same fragrance, same leaf structure, same growth structure. I hope these are sativa dom!

-VT- - I agree about the unevenness of the scrog. It's due to the stretchiness of the green plastic fencing that is the screen. Next time around I will use twine since it will remain taught. And about the frostiness...the pics don't do justice to the DD. They are frosty as hell. I'll have to do better with the pics.

countgrishnackh - I love that animated pic in your post. It almost gives me acid flashbacks!:yoinks:

Flowering Day 42

Flowering Day 42

Hi friends,

Here's a quick update of the girls in the tent. They are packing on weight and smelling great.

The chronic has a faint fruit smell mixed with a medium-strong skunk smell, but incredibly large buds. The two DD are almost identical, but the front girl is smelling quite a bit stronger than the one in the back.

On to the pics:

I'm feeding Floranova Bloom, Floralicious Plus (1/4 tsp/gallon), Sweet (1 tbls/gallon), and occasional Silica Blast as PH up and when I feel like it. I did two feedings with liquid KoolBloom earlier and that's now done. In a couple days I'll replace Floranova with GH 3-part Bloom (but just the bloom stuff, no micro or grow). Then after that it'll be water for the 10 days or so. I should be harvesting the last week of November or first week of December.

Pretty easy grow so far!
